Oh Wow! That 's our reaction when the news from EBU came out today regarding the viewing figures of the last edition of Junior Eurovision in Yerevan, Armenia on Decmeber 11, 2022. 

A total of 33 million viewers tunued in to watch the Junior Eurovision live show across 13 markets which were counted in. In these thirteen market the average audience reached 7.9 million, which marks the third largest audience since 2011 and an increase of 500.000 viewers comparing year to year. 

Out of the 13 markets 10 showed an increase in viewing figures while the average 12.8% of all TV viewers watched the 2022 competition hosted by Armenian Public Television (AMPTV) at 16:00 CET on December 11. Also in 10 markets the broadcasters delivered an audience larger than normally achieved by the channel in the slot.

Breakdown of figures

The hosting nation saw, closely up to 4 in 10 Armenians tuned in to watch some part of the event and the show got the attention on average 2 in 3 TV viewers.

Regarding the participating countries, in Poland, Italy, Spain, and France the average number of viewers exceeded 1 million. Poland saw the biggest audiencing tuning in audience for the fourth year in a row reaching 1,9 million viewers. 

Rai’s broadcast on thwie main channel Rai 1 brought a remarkable increase in audience numbers with an average 1.5 million viewers watching the show in Italy, while Spain delivered the third largest audience with 1.2 million, 50% more than the usual numbers in that slot.

The United Kingdom on its comeback to the contest since 2005 saw 5.2m viewers watching for at least one minute the live show. 

Young generations on board

The viewing share among children aged 4 to 14 reached 18,5% which is more than double from the usual share the broadcasters see in that slot. The same outcome goes for the  viewing share among 15 – 24-year-olds which reached up to 14,2% again twice than the usual audience in the same same broadcasting hour for the channels.

Online Engagement

The numbers regarding the online engagement (social media, steaming platforms, website) confirm the same trend of an increasing audience. 

On the contest's Youtube Channel the live streaming watched 500 thousand times while the website received the impressive number of 2 million visits. 

In addition the social media engagement is reflecting some of the contest's glory days marking the second best results in the competition's history.  9.8 million video views on TikTok and 7.1 million video views on Instagram, an increase of 40% on Twitter with views reaching 5.5 million times while the Facebook reach surpassed 3 million people. 

This year France scored their second victory with Lissandro singing 'Oh Maman' in Yerevan receiving a total of 203 points on the overall scoreboard. This year Junior Eurovision Contest turned 20 and the organization, the hosting, the visuals and the whole set up demonstrate how the contest is growing. 

In addition the TV viewing numbers is one more element confirming the contest is growing in terms of reach and acceptance around the globe. 

Let's go and check the tv ratings in some of the participating countries: 

France

An average of 1.11 million viewers reaching at 1,8 million when Lissandro won the 2nd trophy for France. 

The Netherlands

279,000 viewers on average (12,7% share) an increase just under 40% comparing to the viewing numbers in 2021. 

Spain

1,183,000 million viewers watched the final (10.1 % share in the overall audience and 15.1% share for the ages 13-24) which is the biggest audience since 2019. 

Italy

A total of 1,523,000 viewers watched the Final (a 11,7% share) which is the the largest among the broadcasters reported up to date.

Portugal

A total of 319,400 viewers tuned in the Junior Eurovision final broadcast having a  3.4/8.8% share in the audience with that number peaking during the show at  4.6/11.2%.

Germany

A total of 170,000 viewers followed the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on KiKa (2,1% share). A slight drop of 60.000 viewers compared to 2021. 

Ireland

An average of 15,300 viewers watched the JESC final live from Yerevan, Armenia. Even though in numbers the amount dropped 7000 the share went up from 0,91 to 2,1% comparing to 2021. 

Poland 

An average of 2,100,000 viewers  (15.1% share) tuned in the Junior Eurovision 2022 final with the number reaching 3,2 million at its peak which is lower than the peak number in 2018 when Poland won the contest in Misk, Belarus.

United Kingdom

Over 700,000 viewers watched the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on BBC 1 and CBBC. The numbers to compare with are those of 2005 when the UK last participated, when the live broadcast on ITV2 was followed by 171,000 viewers

Serbia

32, 503 viewers tuned into RTS2 & RTS Svet to watch the final of Junior Eurovision 2022 (1,25 % share) the lowest among participating countries. 

The overall impression for this year's TV audience is more than positive. With some up and downs in some countries the actual numbers for TV audience is showcasing how the contest is progressively growing reaching out to even a wider audience across the contintent and worldwide.

France with Lissandro triumphed in Yerevan with the song 'Oh Maman' that received a total of 203 points in the overall score with 132 points of them coming from the jury voting. 

The breakdown of the jury voting for all countries has been released. Lissandro was the one to top the online voting while Armenia came second leaving third behind Georgia.

France with Lissandro triumphed in Yerevan with the song 'Oh Maman' that received a total of 203 points in the overall score with 71 points of them coming from the online voting. 

The breakdown of the online voting for all countries has been released that's take a look at the numbers in order to have a clear picture of how the votes were dtistributed and led to Lissandro's victory. 

UK with Freya Skye was was the winner of the online voting with 80 points while second came Spain with Carlos Higes who scored 78 points. The top three closed the overall winner Lissandro from France receiving 71 points.

After weeks of preparations and five days of rehearsals here at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan, the time to declare the winner of the 20th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest has arrived. The show will be hosted by Iveta Mukuchyan, Garik Papoyan, Karina Ignatyan and Robin the Robot

Following last evening's Jury Show that determined 50% of the result , this afternoon the 16 competing acts of this year's contest gave their best shot with their live performace in order to get those online votes which counted as the rest 50% of the result. 

Opening of the Show

The show opened with the flag parade and the presentation of this year's 16 competing countries and acts while all of them sang the common song 'Spin the Magic' along with last year's winner Malena Fox. 

Once that was complete the four hosts of the show came forward with Iveta Mukuchyan, Garik Papoyan, Karina Ignatyan and Robin the Robot taking their positions to guide us throughout the song. 

THE COMPETING COUNTRIES 

This year a total of 16 competing countries were in the run for the trophy which  appeared on stage in the following running order:

1. Netherlands: Luna – “La festa”

2. Poland: Laura Bączkiewicz – “To the Moon”

3. Kazakhstan: David Charlin – “Jer-Ana”

4. Malta: Gaia Gambuzza – “Diamonds in the Skies”

5. Italy: Chanel Dilecta – “Bla Bla Bla”

6. France: Lissandro – “Oh Maman!”

7. Albania: Kejtlin Gjata – “Pakëz diell”

8. Georgia: Mariam Bigvava – “I Believe”

9. Ireland: Sophie Lennon – “Solas”

10. North Macedonia: Lara feat. Jovan & Irina – “Životot e pred mene”

11. Spain: Carlos Higes – “Señorita”

While the voting linnes opened again for 15 minutes we got the chance to see on stage last year's winner, Malena Fox sing her new song 'Can't feel anything'  and Armenia's Eurovision 2022 representatitve , Rosa Linn, performing her ESC entry 'Snap' which has become the 2nd most streamed entry in the contest's history. 

In addition past winners of the contest got on stage and delivered their past winning songs. 

THE RESULTS

The winner was determined by a combination of jury voting and an online voting. The jury vote was determined one day before during the jury show while the online voting that had started on Friday evening and closed just before the live show, reopened for 15 minutes after all acts had completed their performances. Each individual had the right to cast up to three choices.  Each voting had a 50% share on the final outcome.

Jury Voting

With all national juries points counted France with Lissandro won the jury voting while Georgia came second and Armenia third. 

Online Voting

Once the jury voting was revealed the hosts went on with the points from the online voting with the overall scoreboard declaring winner Lissandro from France receiving a total of 203 points leaving second behind Armenia with 180 points and Georgia in third place scoring 161 points. 

Congratulations to France and Lissandro for their victorious participation! This is France's second victory in the last three years. The country has won the competition in 2022 with Valentina. Enjoy below the winner's performance of 'Oh Maman'.

A few words for Nicolas

Nicolas Alves is 13 years old and although he comes from Torres Vedras. He lives with his parents and his brothers.The parents' family is Brazilian, but he was born in England which he left at the age of 10.

He started singing when he was four. At 8, he began singing at music school in England.As a kid, I watched videos of Michael Jackson and Fred Mercury and always thought I wanted to be a singer like them.In his spare time he likes to play guitar and play with his brothers.

The audience got to know him better with his participation in the Voice Kids Portugal wheere he saw three chairs turninng for him in the blind auditions and him joining Carolina Deslandes' team. In the final show he performed impressively the song 'Beggin'. 

The young talented act is taking part in the contest with the song titled 'Anos 70' which in English translates 'The 70's'. The Portuguese entry has been penned by  Carolina Deslandes.

Zlata's participation is a special one that certainly stands outs as her country is facing over the last months an unjustified cruel invasion by Russian forces. Despite the suffering and the loss of normality and peace in her life, she's here in Yerevan representing the nation and shouting out that they won't break, no matter what, with her power ballad song 'Nezlamna' which means Unbreakable. 

A few words for Zlata

Zlata won the right to represent Ukraine at Junior Eurovision 2022 in Yerevan on December 11, 2022 after winning the Ukrainian national final with her song  'Nezlamna' (Unbreakable).

14 year old Zlata has already  has a wide epxerience of competition stages as she has participated in several competitions such as Prague Art Festival (Czech Republic), Zvaigzdziu Sonata 2022 (Lithuania), and Vistula Sounds 2022 (Poland).

The young talented act from Ukraine plays the ukulele, and prefers singing in different styles such as blues, soul, and jazz.

With the war still present in Ukraine the filming of the music video  of her song 'Nezlamna' took place in the basement of a church where children from a neighbouring kindergarten come as the warning for air strikes is on.

The Voting Process

Last evening, the 16 competing acts took the stage and performed their entries before the national juries that will determine 50% of the overall score. The rest 50% will be determined by online public voting that has already opened since Friday evening at 20:00 CET.  The online voting will stay open until one minute before the live show hits the screen at 15:59 CET and will reopen again during the live show once all 19 performance have been completed for 15 minutes. 

How to Watch

The Junior Eurovision 2022 live show is set ot hit the screen at 16:00 CET and will be aired live by all participating broadcasters. Also the show will be streamed live on the official Junior Eurovision Youtube channel.

A few words for Carlos

Carlos Higes (15/09/2011) is a singer, actor and model born in Valencia who has just turned 11. A child of innate talent, cheerful, funny and hardworking who dreams of participating in the Eurovision Song Contest since he was 4 years old, when Jamala won the trophy at Eurovision 2016. He is a fan of Justin Bieber and Sebastián Yatraand, among the Eurovision,Chanel and Blas Cantó, our last representatives in the European music contest.

A good student, he loves languages and speaking English and his favorite subjects are Natural Sciences, Language and French. After school, where he attends 6th grade, he plays futsal and continues his artistic training with singing and piano lessons. He has participated in several talent contests on television ('Idol Kids', 'La Voz'), and has also made forays into the world of fashion and acting.

Carlos was chosen to fly the flag in Yerevan through auditions while his song Senorita was selected among 245 songs that RTVE received in the selection process. The music video was shot along the Turia river in Valencia. A very dynamic and cheerful letter of introduction ofr the Spanish hoepful: a theme with urban-Latin dyes, with a very catchy lyric and a video clip that portrays some of the most representative corners of the artist's hometown, Valencia.

A few words for Lissandro 

Lissandro is 13 years old and comes from Théding in Moselle in eastern France. Lissandro is inspired by the world of rock, withhis references ranging from Elvis Presley to Bruno Mars. 

In 2020, he took part in the 7th edition of the Voice Kids France where here reached the final show. In the same edition was Enzo who represented France last year on home soil in Paris with 'Tic-Tac'.

French broadcaster France 2 has internally selected 13-year old Lissandro to represent France at Junior Eurovision 2022 performing the song “Oh Maman!” (Oh Mum!).  Barbara Pravi, who was the Eurovision 2021 representative for France and has been involved in Eurovision and Junior Eurovision events since 2018, co-writing 10 songs for national finals, internal selections, and actual selected songs, has partially penned his Junior Eurovision entry “Oh Maman!” (Oh Mum!)

A few words for Sophie

Sophie Lennon hails from Mayobridge in County Down in Northern Ireland. From a young age she has been performing on stages among which several TV  shows such as Ireland’s Got Talent and The Late Late Toy Show. She had taken part  also in the Irish selection  of Junior Eurovision Éire 2021 when she reached the final finishing third.

Sophie Lennon won the Irish national final Junior Eurovision Éire 2022 and will be representing the nation at Junior Eurovision 2022 singing 'Solas' which means 'Light'. 

The song has been written and composed by Niall Mooney, Jonas Gladnikoff, Matthew Ker, Hannah Featherstone and Ken McHugh. Notably, Niall Mooney has penned alll the Irish Junior Eurovision entries since 2018, while Jonas has been behind the composition for the Irish Eurovision entries of 2009, 2010 and 2014 and three Irish Junior Eurovision entries (2015, 2018 and 2019).

The music video which was filmed at County Donegal's Fánaid Lighthouse located on the northwestern coastline of Ireland.

Our meet & greet sessions kicked off with Gaia Gambuzza who is representing Malta at this year's Junior Eurovision in Yerevan, singing 'Diamonds in the skies'. 

A few words for Gaia

Gaia Gambuzza is 13 years old and besides singing she loves playing the piano and musical theater. She has already a wide experience of big stages. Precisely, she took part in the Sanremo Junior Festival earlier this year while she had advanced to the finals of IBand 2021.

Gaia secured her spot in the 20th Junior Eurovision class after winning a month ago the Maltese national final of Matla Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 ( MJESC 2022) performing the song 'Diamonds in the skies'.  

The song has been written by leading local singer-songwriter Matthew James Borg. The music video of 'Diamonds in the skies' has been directed by Gordon Bonello.

The organisers of Junior Eurovision 2022 are giving us a small taste of what we will be seeing in this year's contest next Sunday on December 11, 2022 and after releasing the first eight countries went on releasing additional first rehearsal clips from the rest eight countries.

Karina Ignatyan and Robin the Robot take us through the second group of 8 artists participating in Yerevan, Armenia. In this addtional footage we see the following countries polishing their final performances for the main stage on Sunday 11 December:

After weeks of preparations and four days of rehearsals here at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex  in Yerevan, Armenia, only one day is left for the live show of Junior Eurovision 2022 to hit the screen. 

However, one day before the live event the Jury show is set to take place this afternoon during which the 16 competing acts will take the stage and perform their entries before tha national juries that will determine 50% of the overall score. The rest 50% will be determined by online public voting that has already opened since Friday evening at 20:00 CET.  .

The juries casting their votes this afternoon consist of three adult jurors and two child jurors. They will rank each of the competing entries from 1st to 15th and the average ranking for each performance will determined which points the country will be awarded with in accrodance with the Eurovision point scale( 12points..10...8...7...6...5...4...3.....2..1 point).

The competing acts will appear in the following runnig order: 

1. Netherlands: Luna – “La festa”
2. Poland: Laura Bączkiewicz – “To the Moon”
3. Kazakhstan: David Charlin – “Jer-Ana”
4. Malta: Gaia Gambuzza – “Diamonds in the Skies”

With all the competing countries having completed their two runs of rehearsals and the contest going into its final two days the online voting that will determine 50% of the result of the 20th edition of Junior Eurovision has opened today at 20:00 CET.

The lines will remain open until one minute before the live show hits the screen at 16:00 CET this Sunday, December 11, to reopen again during the show for 15 minutes.

Votes will be able to select up to three countries. All people regardless of their location or if their country is taking part in the contest can cast their votes.

The common of the 20th edition of Junior Eurovision titled 'Spin the Magic' which is this year's slogan too is now out along with its official music video. 

The common song as feature of the contest, was established back in 2007 and was usually used in the past to serve charity causes and activities. 

This edition the song is been performed in the music video by last year's winner Malena Fox, who this year is welcoming the rest 15 delegates in Yerevan. 

While the official video features Malena, the performance of it on stage on December 11 during the interval act of the live show will see all 16 participants delivering a part of it. Earlier this week the 16 delegates began recording each one their part in the song.

Time to rehearse for the rest nine delegates of this year's contest, with the rehearsals moving forward with the second set of nine contestants. First rehearsals are not open to the press and material for the rehearsing countries is shared throughout the day on the official Junior Eurovision website. 

Here are  how the rehearsals unfolded in Yerevan today: 

The Nethelrands - Luna

Luna was the first act to rehearse today bringing her festive mood on the stage in Yerevan. Luna won this year's Junior Songfestival with the song 'La Festa' and secured her spot in the JESC 2022 class. Luna Sabella, known professionally as Luna, is a twelve-year-old singer that has taken part in the 11th season of The Voice Kids. 

Luna took the stage in coloourful shiny bright scenery that all fits a festive atmosphere. She appeared on stage wearing a sparklin eletric pink suit with a light green top under it. Her four backing dancers are dressed in shiny shades of green creating a 70's-80's disco style staging. Colors, lights and motion convey to the audience that festive mood throughtout the song inviting everyone to join the party!

Italy - Chanel Dilecta

Up next for her first rehearsal came Italy hopeful, Chanel Dilecta singing 'Bla Bla Bla'. The song was composed by Marco Iardella and was penned by Carmine Spera, Fabrizio Palaferri, Angela Senatore.

It's time for action and motivation for the young generations. Anything less is just empty words that cannot contribute to the problems this earth is facing. Bight colors with a floral background feature Chanel's staging indicating optimism that lays on young's people determination.

Chanel Dilecta Apolloni has been studying singing and ballet since the age of 4, along with piano,modern dance and the performing arts. She is an all-round performer who has already participated in international competitions such as the TMF (Tour Music Fest) 2021, the Italian Performer Cup and the talent The Coach.In her spare time Chanel Dilecta designs jewelry, has a passion for reading, knitting and enjoys solving Rubik's cubes. He lives in Thiene, in the province of Vicenza, with her family and his toothless dog called Rambo.

Kazakhstan - David Charlin

Third rehearsal for today coming from Kazakhstan's representative David Charlin who sings about mother earth with 'Jer-Ana'. 

David is 11 year old and hails from the city of Almaty in Kazahhstan. After winning the  Baqytty Bala 2022 (Happy Child) children’s vocal competition, which Khabar TV decided to be the format to determine the nation's hopeful for Yerevan. David Charlin won the competition competing against 21 acts from Kazakhstan and other countries. 

David takes the stages dressed in total white . White trouses paired with a cross-belly shirt on top. The background demonstrates images of the earth showcasing the environmental issues of global warming and polution by humans. David's entry is a wake up call for action for mother earth. 

4. United Kingdom - Freya Skye

The United Kingdom is back in the Junior Eurovision family since 2005 and is back in the game with talented Freya Skye and her song 'Lose my head'. 

The 13-year-old singer, who hails from Buckinghamshire, developed a love of singing after receiving a karaoke machine as a present when she was five. During lockdown, she took the opportunity to release her debut single and write more songs, including I Love The Way, which was featured on BBC Introducing.

Freya's staging is dominated by red color. Very stylish dressing as she wears a skirt paired with a croped top. Her backing dancers also wear skirts combined with long sleve t-shirts on top. All of them are in total red. 

5.Ireland- Sophie Lennon 

The Irish JESC 2022 hopeful, Sophie Lennon, is the next delegate to take the stage for her first run of rehearsals. Sophie bring on stage her 'Light' which is the meaning of her song 'Solas'. The entry has been written and composed by Niall Mooney, Jonas Gladnikoff, Matthew Ker, Hannah Featherstone and Ken McHugh. She delivers her song in a background of warm sunset colors and Lighthouse image displayed on the backdrop connecting us with the music video of the song. Jundging from her vocal performance in the national final we expect to listen to a captivating performance. 

6. France - Lissandro

Rehearsal continue with the first rehearsal of Lissandro the French representative. Lissandro has brought his song 'Oh Maman' in Yerevan.

This young man judging from the first impression has start quality. We can easily imagine him after years holding big concerts and young girl fans screaming for him. He shines on stage wearing casual sporty clothes. Black jeans with a white t-shirt paired with a black sparkling college style jacket. Simplicity with a sparkle touch is all you need to be a star and Lissandro delivers that on stage and when some fireworks are added in makes the whole thing spectacular. 

7. Spain - Carlos Higes

Up next for his firsr rehearsal Carlos Higes from Spain carrying on stage his latin vibes with 'Senorita'. Carlos Higes (15/09/2011) is a singer, actor and model born in Valencia who has just turned 11. A child of innate talent, cheerful, funny and hardworking who dreams of participating in the Eurovision Song Contest since he was 4 years old, when Jamala won the trophy at Eurovision 2016.

The Spanish hopeful is a fan of Justin Bieber and Sebastián Yatraand, among the Eurovision,Chanel and Blas Cantó. A good student, he loves languages and speaking English and his favorite subjects are Natural Sciences, Language and French. He has participated in several talent contests on television ('Idol Kids', 'La Voz'), and has also made forays into the world of fashion and acting.

Carlos appears on stage in total white along with his four backing dancers also all in white clothes. hite trousers with a white T-shirt with a high neckline and a long white jacket make up his dressing. A theme with tropical-Latin dyes as pines are displayed on the backdrop, motion combined with a very catchy lyric make up a budding Ricky Martin style star.

 8. Georgia - Mariam Bigvava

It's time for the country with most trophies in the competition, Georgia and their hopeful, Mariam Bigvava to go through her first rehearsal of her power ballad 'I Believe'. 

Mariam's entry has been composed by Giga Kukhianidze and Beni Kadagidze and penned by Iru Kchechanov. It's remarkable that Giga Kukhianidze has been behind the compsition of 11 Georgian Junior Eurovision entries among which three victorious songs. Back in June this year Mariam Bigvava won the televised competition 'Ranina 2022' and secured the right to represent Georgia at the 20th edition of Junior Eurovision.

Mariam takes the stages rehearsing in sport casual clothes. We assume that her final dressing will come the following day. Jugding from her vocal skills theres's no doubt that she is plays strong in the game for that trophy having Georgia's good tradition on her side. 

9. Armenia - Nare

Last but not least the host nation's act, Nare, is closing the first round of reheasals with he uptempo pop song 'Dance!'. A clear invitation by the Armenian hopeful to put our dancing shoes on and start dancing and dancing and dancing. 

14-year-old Nare Ghazaryan has been selected through auditions. Behind the music of the song are Grigor Kyokchyan and Nick Egibyan. The song has been penned by Grigor Kyokchyan while the arrangement is a work of Nick Egibyan. 

Nare takes the stage waering a electic fuchsia short jacket on top with a short silver sparkling dress under it. Her two male backing dancer wear balck jeans with white shirts paired with the same silver speakling jackets while her two female dancer have on a darker silver spakling dress. The sparkling clothes along with the tempo and the catchy lyrics certainly take us to Nara's big dancefloor.

Time to rehearse for the 16 delegates of this year's contest, with the rehearsals starting with the first set of seven contestants. First rehearsal will not be open to the press and material for the rehearsing countries will be shared throughout the day on the official Junior Eurovision website. 

Here are  how the rehearsals unfold in Yerevan today: 

1. Albania - Kejtlin Gjata

The first act to take the stage for her first rehearsal is Kejtlin Gjata from Albania. Ketlin secured her spot in the Junior Eurovision 2022 class after winning the national final in Albania with her song Pakëz Diell which translates 'A bit of sunlight'. He ballad song which has been penned by herself takes us to her world where love and peace dominate everything. 

Kejtlin wears a pink short dress with tulles combined with a long overcoat that starts from the shoulders and ends in tulles down low. 

2. Ukraine - Zlata Dziunka

Second to rehearse today is Zlata from Ukaine. The 14 year old Zlata has already  has a wide epxerience of competition stages as she has participated in several competitions such as Prague Art Festival (Czech Republic), Zvaigzdziu Sonata 2022 (Lithuania), and Vistula Sounds 2022 (Poland).

Her song 'Nezlamna' (Unbreakable) certainly fits the situation in Ukraine right now with people fleeing due to the war, the ones remaining suffering from the war consequences but this won't break them. Zlata is here to sing her heart out ! 

3. Malta - Gaia Gambuzza

One of the diamonds in the sky just dropped on Yerevan's JESC 2022 stage and is shining bright! Malta's Gaia Gambuzza is up next for her first rehearsal of 'Diamonds in the Skies'. 

Gaia Gambuzza is 13 years old and besides singing she loves playing the piano and musical theater. She has already a wide experience of big stages. Precisely, she took part in the Sanremo Junior Festival earlier this year while she had advanced to the finals of IBand 2021.

After winning the Maltese national final she is here in Yerevan takeing us to her world of science fiction. The staging is similar to the  surreal environment of the song's music video and is crafted in an 80s style, with Gaia wearing a silver space outfit. 

4. Serbia - Katarina Savic

Fourth reheasal of the days comes from Serbia and their Junior eurovision hopeful Katarina Savic. Katarina is 13 years old and has devoted herself to singing, ballet dancing and playing trombone. Her song  “Svet bez granica” (World without borders) penned and composed by Ivana Dragićević is here to spread the message of peace and tolerance. For Katarina it's the only way to set up a world without borders.

Katarina takes the stage and showcases with her appearance what she is all about. Her red ballet dress and the trombone tell the stories of two the things the young acts loves more. 

5. Poland - Laura Bączkiewicz 

Laura from Poland takes the stage for her firsr rehearsal and promises us a ride to the moon.  She is 11 years old a attends the 4th grade of the Primary School in Konin. On a daily basis, he learns singing at the Hit Stage Song Studio. For over 2 years he has been dubbing in cartoons, series and films. She appeared in the fifth edition of "The Voice Kids".

Her staging of her song 'To the moon' is what the title describes. Laura is dressed in shiny silver trouses paired with a silver shiny jacket on top while the whole scenery  resembles to the moon's cloudy space environment.

6. North Macedonia: Lara, Irina and Jovan

The North Macedonian trio is up next with the country's hopefuls Lara, Irina and Jovan making their first rehearsal of “Životot E Pred Mene” (Life is ahead of me).  

The three of them appear on stage wearing colorful clothes combininb a green colored skirt with a purple dress and Jovan's red top jacket. A colorful vivid scenery that fits the occasion as the song aims to convey a optimistic inspiring message to all the young people that have life laying straight ahead and should sip every drop of the ocean opening in front of them. 

7. Portugal - Nicolas Alves

 Portugal's Nicolas Alves takes the stage for his first rehearsal of 'Anos 70' and know how to showcase his talent. 

Nicolas Alves is 13 years old and although he comes from Torres Vedras. He lives with his parents and his brothers.The parents' family is Brazilian, but he was born in England which he left at the age of 10.He started singing when he was four. At 8, he began singing at music school in England.As a kid, I watched videos of Michael Jackson and Fred Mercury and always thought I wanted to be a singer like them.In his spare time he likes to play guitar and play with his brothers.

The audience got to know him better with his participation in the Voice Kids Portugal wheere he saw three chairs turninng for him in the blind auditions and him joining Carolina Deslandes' team. In the final show he performed impressively the song 'Beggin'. 

Nicolas appears on stage wearing simple casual style clothes. Black jeans with a white t-shirt paired with a black furry long coat on top. Holding his electric guitar he delivers his song in a background switching from dark red colors to more bright scenery telling from the pictures released.

Following the spectacular Opening Ceremony of Junior Eurovision 2022, at Republic Square in Yerevan, Armenia the running oder for the 16 competing countries was released. 

While three spots in the running order were determined through a draw that took place during the Opening Ceremony, the rest were decided by the producers of the show. 

The draw that was held at the National Gallery of Armenia determined the opening act of the show, the act that will be closing the contest and the host nation's position. Here how the results came out:

Luna from the Netherlands will be opening the competing part of the show

Ukraine with Zlata will be closing the performances

The host nation's hopeful, Nare, will appear #15 on stage. 

In the evening once the Opening Ceremony was over the producers decided the rest of the running order by determining in which position will appear in the live show the rest 13 competing countries. Here is the running order of the 20th edition of Junior Eurovision: 

Tomorrow rehearsals kick off at the the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex which had hosted the contest back in 2011 when the country had hosted the contest for the first time.
