France Televisions has internally selected Titouan to represent the nation at the 22nd edition of Junior Eurovision in Madrid this November. He was selected in June, among about twenty other young candidates.

The 14 year old talented artist will be singing “Comme ci, comme ça” (So-so), which will be released today at 18:00 CEST.

Who is Titouan

The young act from France is familiar to the audience from his participation in  The Voice Kids in 2022 and Dream Team last January.

In The Voice Kids show presented by Nikos Aliagas, Titouan was 11 years old and had managed to convince the four coaches. After choosing Julien Doré to accompany him, the young boy was eliminated at the battle stage. Two years later, he returned to TF1 by joining Matt Pokora's team in Dream Team, a  show that he won.

Alexandra Redde-Amiel, director of entertainment and games at France Télévisions and head of the French delegation stated to the local French media (20 Minutes):

"He has a particular grain of voice, a luminous look - the Junior a contest of emotion, through the eyes, we convey a lot of things. He has a lot of charisma and ease."

His song, revealed at the end of the day on Wednesday, contrasts with the previous French candidates. If it remains in a juvenile register, it does not dig the "candy pink" furrow and is distinguished by its low tempo opening before going up tempo.

Alexandra Redde-Amiel sees it as "a mix between Mika, Elton John and Coldplay in some sounds. We keep the colorful pop side that we like to wear at Junior because it's important to arrive with a good vibes side and a strong message. In this case, "an ode to tolerance and love, a hymn saying that difference is a strength."

France in Junior Eurovision

France participated in the Junior Eurovision first time in 2004, when Thomas Pontier represented the country with “Si on voulait bien”  and finished 6th . After that edition the country withdrew and stayed absent until the 2018 edition, when they returned and since then have been in the top 5 places (Angélina - Jamais Sans Toi - 2nd place  Carla -Bim Bam Toi” 5th place in Gliwice, Valentina - 'J'Imagine'  1st place in  Warsaw,  Enzo -Tic-Tac' - 3rd place in Paris , Lissandro - 'Oh Maman' 1st place in Yerevan. 

Last year Zoé Clauzure ahieved a back to back victory for France on home grounds in Nice singing 'Cœur'.

Zoé Clauzure the host nation's hoepful was crowned winner of Junior Eurovision 2023 at Nikaia Palais in Nice, France with her song  'Cœur' after topping both, jury and online voting. 

After weeks of preparations and four days of rehearsals here at the Nikaia Palais in Nice the final show of Junior Eurovision took place this afternnoon in order to determine the successor of Lissandro. The show was hosted by the TV presenter Olivier Minne, the presenter and former Miss France , Laury Thilleman and influencer Ophenya who will be the host in the green room talking to the contestants. 

 Following last evening's Jury Show that determined 50% of the result , this afternoon the 16 competing acts of this year's contest gave their best shot with their live performace in order to get those online votes which counted as the rest 50% of the result. 

Opening of the Show

The show opened with the flag parade and the presentation of this year's 16 competing countries and acts while all of them sang the common song 'Heroes'.

This year a total of 16 competing countries were in the run for the trophy which  appeared on stage in the following running order:

Interval Acts

While the voting lines opened again for 15 minutes we got the chance to see on stage last year's winner Lissandro returns on the JESC stage to deliver his victorious song “Oh Maman!”. Also TikTok pianist star Van Toan featured on the show while  the Eurovision 2016 representative Amir reminded us of his entry back in 2016 in Stockholm “J’ai cherché” and  present us his brand new single.

In addition the French Junior Eurovision participants Valentina (2020), Enzo (2021) and Lissandro (2021) performed along with this year's contestants the song “We Are the World” within the frame of the Non-Violence Project.

THE RESULTS

The winner was determined by a combination of jury voting and an online voting. The jury vote was determined one day before during the jury show while the online voting that had started on Friday evening and closed just before the live show, reopened for 15 minutes after all acts had completed their performances. Each individual had the right to cast up to three choices.  Each voting had a 50% share on the final outcome.

With all national juries points counted France finished first with Armenia in second place and the UK closing the top 3. Here is how the voting results came out: 

Online Voting

Once the jury voting was revealed the hosts went on with the points from the online voting with the overall scoreboard declaring winner France's Zoe from receiving a total of 228 points leaving second behind Spain with 201 points and Armenia in third place scoring 180 points.

Congratulations to France and Zoe for their victorious participation! This is France's third victory in the last three years. The country has won the competition in 2020 with Valentina and in 2022 with Lissandro. Enjoy below the winner's performance of 'Cœur'.

The final  show of the 2023 Junior Eurovision Song Contest is set to hit the screen today at 16:00 CET live from the Nikaia Palais in Nice, France. 

After weeks of preparations and four days of rehearsals here at the Nikaia Palais in Nice the final show of Junior Eurovision is set to determine the successor of Lissandro and the new winning country. The Voting

Following last evening's Jury Show that determined 50% of the result , this afternoon the 16 competing acts of this year's contest will give their best shot with their live performace in order to get those online votes that will secure them a good placing and why not the trophy itself. The online voting that opened on Friday on JESC.TV evening will be closing one minute before the televised live show and will reopen for 15 minutes during the show once all contestants complete their performances. People around the world can vote their three favorite song while the audience in the participating countries can vote for their own country too. 

Interval Acts

Last year’s winner Lissandro returns on the JESC stage to deliver his victorious song “Oh Maman!”. With all the competing countries having completed their two runs of rehearsals in Nikaia Palais and the contest going into its final two days the online voting that will determine 50% of the result of the 20th edition of Junior Eurovision has opened today at 20:00 CET.

The lines will remain open until one minute before the live show hits the screen at 16:00 CET this Sunday, November 26, to reopen again during the show for 15 minutes.

Votes will be able to select up to three countries. All people regardless of their location or if their country is taking part in the contest can cast their votes. People voting from the UK must have an account registered on BBC.

Junior Eurovision 2023

The 21st edition of Junior Eurovision is set to hit the scrennmon November 26, next Sunday at 16:00 CET live from Nikaia Palais in Nice, France. 

A total of 16 nations are taking part in the upcoming Junior Eurovision with Estonia making their debut in the contest while all Big -5 countries are on board in this year's edition.

Time to rehearse for the 16 delegates of this year's contest, with the rehearsals going on with the rest six contestants. First rehearsals are not be open to the press and material for the rehearsing countries are shared throughout the day on the official Junior Eurovision website. 

Here are  how the rehearsals unfold in Nice today:

Albania: Viola Gjyzeli – “Bota ime“

Albania's Viola opens the reharsal today in Nikaia Palais with her song 'Bota ime'. The Albanian delgate appers alone on stage wearing a white outfit which has attached  a cape that forms a shape of butterfly wings.

Blue is is the color tha prevails througout the performance which remains simple until the end. 

Ireland: Jessica McKean – “Aisling”

It;s for the Irish delegate Jessica McKean to run her first rehearsal of 'Aisiling' (Dream). Jessica apprean on stage wearing an impressive red frock trasferring us to the world of fairies. 

The Irish hopeful is joint on stage by last year's representatve Sophie Lennon wearing a white dress and along with the dark forest on the backdrop that switches to a floral surrounding, reinforce that fairy feeling we have watching the perforrmance. 

Poland: Maja Krzyżewska – “I Just Need a Friend”

Up next is Maja Krzyżewska from Poland for the first rehearsal of 'I just need a friend'. Maja wears a a knee length pink dress combined with a cape , She is joined on stage by four backing dancers who all wear macthed long pink dresses. 

The backdrops features pictures from videos of Maja's childhood years. As the Polish act sings her entry the lyrics of her song are diplayed behind. 

France: Zoé Clauzure – “Coeur”

Zoé Clauzure the host nation's hopeful takes the stage for her own first reeharsal of 'Coeur' (Heart)  on home soil. The French delegate begins her performance sitting on a pink piano wearing a disco ball style sparkling purple dress. As the song progresses she sings standing on the piano.

She is accompanied by four backing dancers that move beneath her next to the piano while on the LED screen multiplied image of children in white dancing make the whole scenery really impressive. 

Spain: Sandra Valero – “Loviu”

 It's  Spain's Sandra Valero's turn to make her first rehearsal of 'Loviu' . The Spanish hopeful wear beige trouses combine on top with a woolen brown vest without sleeves. Her four backing dancers are all dressed the same way with their vests only in a more darken brown color. 

The act from Valecia poerforms on a pontium that look like a big suitcase and along with the landmarks on the back drops indicates a world tour. All whole travel tour vibes from the set up match th the chorus 'Loviu' that is sang in other languages too. An impressive staging closing with fireworks on the backdrop! 

Italy: Melissa and Ranya – “Un mondo giusto”

Last but not least the Italian delegates, Melissa and Ranya  close today's rehearsal as they deliver their song 'Un Mondo Giusto'.  The two of them are dressed in diffrent style,  Melissa is wearing a jean blue vest paired with short jean trousers, while Ranya wears a Skottish style skirt paired with a white shirton top. 

 A piano for two and a bed for Ranya is how the performance unfolds on stage while the projections on the LED screen behind makes the whole area look like part of a doll house. 

The rehearsals continue tomorrow in Nikaia Palais with the second rehearsals for the first set of 10 countries. The 21st Junior Eurovision live show is set to hit the screen on Sunday, November 26 at 16:00 CET.

Ukraine: Anastasia Dymyd – “Kvitka”

First delegate to open the rehearsals is the youngest of this year's edition. It Ukraine's Anastasia along with her four backing dancers. The song is about flowers so pink, purple and blue are the colors dominating the staging. Anastasia is dressed in pastel pink dress while the dacners are also dressed in a more  plain satin pink. 

The staging is quite similar to the one of the national selection while a red love heart fetures on Anastasia's top part of the dress. Her staging certainly gives us the happy and colorful vibes of Valentina's performance back in 2020. 

North Macedonia: Tamara Grujeska – “Kaži mi, kaži mi koj”

Second to rehearse is Tamara Grujeska from North Macedonia. She appears ons stage wearing a white outfit with a touch of black strips on the top part and the sleeves. Her staging includes a LED screen on the backdrop diplaying a floral purple environment. The surround is dominated mosty bt blue and nave blue colors. 

Germany: Fia – “Ohne Worte”

Thrid delgate to take the stage for her first rehearsal is Fia from Germany performing 'Ohne Worte'. Fia wear an electro dark pink shirt paired with combo trousers while he backing dance is dressed in shorts to the knee cobined with a cropped top. 

 Again pink purple and blue are the dominating colors of the staging with a touch of orange warm colors taking over for a while. The use of LED screen features the staging  on which Lanterns  are displayed impressively Lanterns creating a magical surrounding. 

 Estonia: Arhanna – “Hoiame kokku”

Estonia is debuting in this year's Junior Eurovisiona and Arhanna has the honor to be the first JESC representative. She takes the stage dress in a balck dress paired with a black jakcket while red ribbons ate left on her shoulder. The staging of her song is rather dark while herself is sitting on a bench while red dominates the scenery. 

 United Kingdom: Stand Uniqu3 – “Back to Life”

Nexu up for their first rehearsal are Stand Uniqu3 representing the United Kingdom. The British trio delivers their song pretty much like in thei music video. The staging sees them raise up on neon lighted diamond shapes with a colorful backdrop taking over as the song progressess. 

The trio is joined as the song progressess by three backing dancers while neon lights reinforce the whole colorful backdrop. 

Netherlands: Sep and Jasmijn – “Holding On to You”

The Dutch duo of Sep & Jasmijn are the next to rehearse for the first time. Jasmijn apprears on stage in a total sparkling red outfit while Sep is wearing electric blue colored trousers with a blue white jacket on top.

They are supoorted by three backing dancers and a DJ lifted up in a diamond shape construction lit up with neon lights. The backgroup is mailnly dark blue with pink spotlights giving pink flashes of light on the stage. Their perfomance is quite similar to the national final one. 

Malta: Yulan – “Stronger”

Seventh act to rehearse today is Julan from Malta. Julan is wearing black trousers paired with a blakc jacket and a white top inside. Her staging is all about simplicity but serves the songs she delivers.

A rather dark colored backdrop with images of herself displayed on the LDE Screen behind. 

Portugal: Júlia Machado – “Where I Belong”

It's time for Portugal's hopeful Julia Machado to run her first set of rehearsals of 'Where I belong'. Julia appears alone on stage in a pink dress with a multi fringe finish on top.

 She begins her performance from a lying position and stands up as the song progresses. On the backdrop shades of greens dominate the stage. Simplicity in her staging drives the audience to focus on her and the vocal performance. 

Georgia: Anastasia and Ranina – “Over the Sky”

After 8 countries it's Georgia's turn to reharse in Nikaia Palais with Anastasia & Ranina taking the stage to deliver 'Over the Sky'.  The two of them are wearing both white outfits with Anastasia in a white dress with black ends. Two backing dancers join them on stage wearing an outfit witg an back ending let look as a parachute  and attracts the attention on stage.

The backdrop switches between white to blue and pink colors to a sky blue floral environment. 

 Armenia: Yan Girls – “Do It My Way”

Day One Rehearsal here in Nikaia Palais conclude with Armenia and the Yan Girls doing their way! The girl band takes the stage wearing similar style outfits in different colors. Sporty combo trousers in whte and black paired with slim fit different colores tops is our case here. 

The Yan Girls are bringing their energy on stage in their own way in a colorful backdrop that resembles to a puzzle of grafities. 

The rehearsal continue tomorrow in Nikaia Palais in Nice with the rest six nations set to take the stage for their own rehearsal. The Junior Eurovision final live show will hit the screnn on Sunday, November 26 at 16:00 CET.

During the Opening Ceremony where the 16 delegates had their time to shine on the red carpet, a special draw took place determiming the host nation's postision of appearcance in the live show and the countries that will have the honor to open and close the competing part of the show. 

The result of the draw brought Spain to open the show and the Netherland closing it while the host nation France will be comepting in position No 12 .

Junior Eurovision is turning 21 years old with this edition and everything is set for a spectacular show of lights, staging and impressive songs and vocals by the 16 delegates, competing in Nice this year.

The Junior Eurovision 2023 week is about to begin with the Opening Ceremony taking place at the Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais at 17:00 CET, where all 16 partcipants will have their time to shine on the red carpet.

The event will be hosted by Carla Lazzari who represented France at Junior Eurovision 2019 and presenter Manon Théodet.  Journalist Laura Tenoudji and Digital Ambassador Ophénya will be the ones to welcome each one of the 16 delegates on the carpet while the show will feature the French past participants singing parts of their JESC entries. 

Running order draw

During the Opening Ceremony a special draw will take place  in order to determine three spots in the running order of the live show. The country to perform first, the country to perform last and the host nation's position will be determined. The rest of the running order will be decided by the producers of the show.

Junior Eurovision 2023

The EBU and France Televisions are in full steam getting everything set for the 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Nice, Francc. At Nikaia Palais where the next upcoming contest will take place the construction of the stage has started. 

The stage design was revealed back in Septemner while the details of the opening Ceremony and the host has already been released.

The stage counts 30 meters wide and 12 meters high and displays the shape of open wings bringing on the sense of flying away, creativity and inagination!

The next edition of Junior Eurovision is around the corner with the Opening Ceremony set for November 20 at 19:00 CET. 

The event will ufold live at the Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais and will be hosted by Carla Lazzari France's Junior Eurovision 2019 act and presenter Manon Théodet. Also journalist Laura Tenoudji and Digital Ambassador Ophénya will welcome on spot everyone of the 16 delegates of this year's contest while all former French Junior Eurovision representatives will perform parts of their entries throughtout the event. 

In addition during the Opening Ceremony event a draw will determine the opening and closing acts of the live show of the contest while the rest running order for places from two to fifteen will be decided by the producers. 

The Opening Cermony will hit the screen on France 4 and Okoo, with Karim Ternane and Julia Gourand on the commetary.

Tickets for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 to take place in Nice, France will  go on sale today at 12:00 CEST.

The prices for seated tickets can be purchased at the price of  €20 while the standing tickets will cost €15 . In order to purchase your tickest all you have to do is visit the official website of Palais Nikaïa here.

The 21st Junior Eurovision will take place on November 26,2023 at the  Palais Nikaïa in Nice with the live show set to hit the screen at 16:00 CET.

Jessicas wass selected to fly the flag in Nice after winning Junior Eurovision Éire 2023. Following her victorious participation in the show “Aisling” was composed specially for her.

On the composition team of the song we see people with past experience from Junior Eurovision and Eurovision. Namely  Niall Mooney, Ken McHugh, Will Weeks, Niamh Mooney and Sophie Lennon are the compoers behind Jessica's entry 'Aisling'. Niall was a co-writer of Ireland’s Eurovision 2009 & 2010 songs and was on the team behind the Junior Eurovision 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021 & 2022 entries. Ken co-wrote Ireland’s entry at Junior Eurovision 2022 while Sophie represented the nation at Junior Eurovision 2022 with “Solas” which achieved the country's best placing coming 4th. 

Along with the song 'Aisiling' the official music video has been published also. The song itself is very ethereal with a spiritual sound taking us in the world of fairy tales and castles, images of which feature the music video. 

Ireland in Junior Eurovision 

Ireland has participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest five times since their first appearance in the 2015 contest. The Irish language broadcaster, TG4, is responsible for the country's participation in the contest, and uses the national final Junior Eurovision Éire to select the Irish entries.

Ireland debuted in the contest when TG4 participated in the 2015 contest in Sofia, Bulgaria, when the song "Réalta na mara" performed by Aimee Banks placed 12th in a field of 17 countries.  Ireland has achieved one top ten placing, in 2016 when the song "Bríce ar bhríce" performed by Zena Donnelly placed 10th.

In Gliwice-Silesia at JESC 2019 Anna Kearney represented Ireland with her song "Banshee"  which finished 12th receiving 73 points. Despite having initially confirmed their participation in the 2020 contest in Warsaw, Poland in January 2020, TG4 announced in August 2020 that they would not participate in the contest due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Maiú Levi Lawlor represented the nation with “Saor (Disappear)”. He finished 18th with 44 points. Sophie Lennon and her song “Solas” finished in 4th place with 150 points in 2022 edition of the contest achieving the best place for Ireland so far.

Following the auditions stage where 51 acts auditioned with 24 of them making it to the Junior Songfestival Academy from. 9 acts were shorlisted to move on to the final stage, with the formation of the final four competing acts in the national final for Junior Eurovision 2023 been determined. 

Two trios, one duet and one soloist make up this year's line-up are running for the golden ticket that leads to the next Junior Eurovision in Nice, France on November 26,2023. 

Namely the the four competing acts that will be taking the national final are: 

• Duron
• Jasmin and Sep
• Hannah, Robine and Jikke
• Aimée, Gina and Sana

Following up are the names of the acts along with the release of the original songs the acts will be performing on the national final stage on September 23, 2023. So far we know that the the official group song this year is titled “Feeling Good Vibes”

The Netherlands in Junior Eurovision

The Netherlands has been participating in the contest since day 1 in 2003 and haven’t missed a year. In 2009 they won the competition and have achieved nine times to finish in the top 10 places. The country’s worst place came in 2015 when it finished 15th. In 2018 the country was represented by the duo Max & Anne and their entry Samen, which finished in 13th place with 91 points.

In 2019, Matheu represented the nation in Gliwice with his song "Dans met jou" which finished in the 4th place with 186 points. In 2020 the girl group UNITY won the national final and represented the nation in Warsaw, Poland with their song 'Best Friends'  which finished 4th, the second fourth placing for the county in a row. In 2021 in Paris, Ayana, represented the nation with the song “Mata Sugu Aō Ne” who finished scoring a total of 43 points.

Last year by Luna with the song “La Festa” defened the Dutch colors in Yerevan. She finished 7th scoring a total of 128 points.

Just over a month ago RTVE opened ran an online casting in search of the next Spanish horpful for Junior Eurovision. A total of 114 submission reached RTVE, 19 more than last year. 

From the 114 applications, a total of 14 children were shorlisted to participate in the second and final phase of the selection process during which they auditioned before a jury. 

Sandra Valero has been chosen unanimously by the jury made up by: Ana María Bordas, César Vallejo, Miriam García Corrales, Pablo Cebrián, Tony Sanchez-Ohlsson, Rayden and María Eizaguirre.

A few words for Sandra

Sandra Valero (20/08/2011) is a singer, actress and model from Benetússer, Valencia, who comes from a family closely linked to music; from his great-grandfathers and grandmother to his uncle and father, the latter musicians and composers.

He has published several of her own songs and has also participated in other talents on television such as 'Idol Kids' and 'La Voz Kids'. He currently plays the role of Mowgli from 'The Jungle Book' in a local theatre company. Sandra declares herself an unconditional fan of the singer Aitana.

Spain in Junior Eurovision

Spain has a total of five participations in the youth competition and has achieved remarkable results in its short history. The country counts a victory thanks to  "Antes muerta que sencilla" (Before dead than simple) by María Isabel (2004) , two second places ( Sergio, in 2003  and  Antonio José, in 2005 ) and a fourth position ( Dani Fernández, in 2006 ).

Spain returned to the competition in the 2019 edition after 13 years of absence  and did it with an impressive. The young talented act starred in a memorable performance with "Marte" (Mars)  on the  stage of Gliwice-Silesia and achieved to finish in 3rd place. In 2020 the nation was represented by Soleá who performed the song 'Palante' which finished thrid on the overall scoreboard with 133 points. 

In 2021 Levi Diaz was selected to fly the flag in Paris with his song 'Reir' which eventually finished in the 15th place with 77 points which marked the first non top-5 placing for Spain in his JESC history. 

Last year Carlos Higes represented the country with his song “Señorita” achieving the 6th palce with 137 points.

Albania will continue to participate in Junior Eurovision in 2023 and will be taking part in the 21st edition in Nice, France next November.

The next Junior Eurovision representative will be selected via the national selection format of Junior Fest which has been the formula Albania is using since 2012. 

Albania in Junior Eurovision

Albania has been taking part in Junior Eurovision since 2012 and has missed out the edition in 2013 and 2014. The best result came in 2015 when the country finished 5th with Mishela Rapo singing Dambaje while in 2018 Efi Gjika who finished 17th with her entry Barbie and in 2019 in Gliwice-Silesia, Poland,  where Isea Çili finished 17th with “Mikja ime fëmijëri”. 

While the country withdrew in 2020 from the competition in Warsaw, they retunred in 2021 with Anna Gjebrea singing in Paris “Stand by You” which finished 14th with 84 points. 

Last year Junior Fest winner  Kejtlin Gjata represented Albania with her song “Pakëz diell”, finishing in 12th place.

The North Macedonian national broadcaster, MRT, has internally selected through auditions Tamara Grujeska to represent the country at the 21st Junior Eurovision in Nice on November 26, 2023. 

Soloist Tamara Grujeska, supported by an author's team of renowned artists, will represent the country at the Junior Eurosong 2023. The 12 year old artist was selected among other candidates during auditions that took place in the capital city, Skopje, at the MRT studios the previous days. 

The song that Tamara will sing in Nice will be alse determined by an internal process. 

A few words about Tamara

Tamara was born on 02.12.2010 in Gostivar. She made her first start in the world of music at just five years old and has been active at children's festivals abroad ever since. She is unique and fearless. She is recognizable for her powerful performances and incredible vocals that conquer and leaves no one indifferent. Evidence of this is the large number of awards she has won, not only in North Macedonia but also in international competitions.

Her first appearance in an international competition was in 2021 at the Lake Pearls in Struga, where she won First Prize. That same year, she also participated in the International Festival "Stars" in Prilep, where she won the highest Grand Prix award with her song "Music in Me Has a Home". That same year, he also participated in the International Skoljice Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia, where he won the Grand Prix again.

In 2022, Tamara also participated in the most prestigious festival and competition at Vladimir Golden Stars Rain, where she won the Grand Prix in competition with 150 competitors from several countries. He also won the Grand Prix at the Angel Voice International Festival in Belgrade Serbia.

Tamara is a student at Gotse Delchev-Gostivar Elementary School in the VII department and at todor skalovski primary school–Tetovo section "solo singing".

North Macedonia in Junior Eurovision

North Macedonia, previously presented in the contest as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R. Macedonia), has participated in the competition 15 times since their debut in the inaugural 2003 contest missing out only the editions of 2012, 2014 and 2020. 

In the first edition of the contest back inl 2003 in Copenhagen, Denmark, represented by the song "Ti ne me poznavaš" performed by Marija and Viktorija. The song placed 12th in a field of 16 countries.

The country's best performance at the contest has been 5th place, achieved twice to date – in 2007 when North Macedonia was represented by the song "Ding Ding Dong" performed by Rosica Kulakova and Dimitar Stojmenovski, and in 2008 with "Prati mi SMS" performed by Bobi Andonov.

While in 2020 the country withdrew from the competition due to the covid-19 pandemic restrictions, in 2021 make its comeback in Paris with Dajte Muzika singing 'Green forces' who score a top 10 placing for the landlocked country finishing 9th with a total of 114 points. 

Last year the nation represented Lara Trpčeska and Irina Davidovska performing the song “Životot E Pred Mene” (Life is ahead of me) finishing 16th with 54 points.

EBU and France Télévisions has confirmed that Nice will be the host city of Junior Eurovision 2023. The 21st edition of the compeittion will take place on November 26 at Palais Nikaïa.

This marks the second time France will be hosting the contest. Back in 2021 the competition took place in the capital city, Paris.

Alexandra Redde-Amiel, Head of Delegation for France at Junior Eurovision, said:

“In 2023, the adventure starts again. What an honour to have the chance to organize and produce the one of the greatest European musical shows once again in France alongside the EBU, all the delegations and all the young artists! The Junior Eurovision Song Contest shows how much cultural and musical power our new generations have in the world.

About the venue

Palais Nikaïa is an indoor concert hall and multi-purpose facility located in Nice, France. It opened on 4 April 2001, and is located five minutes' drive from Côte d'Azur International Airport. The name Nikaïa derives from the ancient Greek settlement, predecessor of today's Nice. In addition to concerts, Palais Nikaïa can host variety shows, sporting events and conventions.

On its own, Palais Nikaïa has seats for between 1,500 and 6,250 persons depending upon configuration, with an upwards maximum of 9,000 capacity including those standing. However, in a unique arrangement, it is located next to the outdoor Stade Charles-Ehrmann, with sliding glass doors to operate between them, and the two in combination can be used to host very large concerts with up to 50,000 or more in attendance.

Depeche Mode performed at the concert hall on May 4, 2013, during their Delta Machine Tour, in front of a sold-out crowd of 9,904 people. The venue hosted the 2013 Jeux de la Francophonie which took place in Nice from 6 to 15 September 2013. The disciplines practiced in this venue were judo and freestyle wrestling.

France in Junior Eurovision

France participated in the Junior Eurovision first time in 2004, when Thomas Pontier represented the country with “Si on voulait bien”  and finished 6th . After that edition the country withdrew and stayed absent until the 2018 edition, when they returned with Angélina and the song Jamais Sans Toi which finished in the honorable 2nd place with 203 points.

In 2019 the nation was represented by Carla who 5th place in Gliwice, with the song “Bim Bam Toi”.  In the  2020 edition of the compeition in Warsaw, Poland Valentina's winning performance of 'J'Imagine'  that brought the trophy to France for the first time.

In 2021 Enzo represented the nation on home soil in Paria performing in 'La Seine Musicale' the song 'Tic-Tac' which finished in the honorable 3rd place receiving a total of 187 points. 

Last year Lissandro singing "Oh Maman" won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with a total of 203 points.
