DJ LUM!X talking about his song  said:

I see ‘Halo’ as a comeback song. A comeback from sitting at home for a whole generation. Now we can finally party again, visit clubs and have fun. The steady energy of ‘Halo’ provides the perfect soundtrack for it. From the songwriting to the production, everything is geared towards a party song that still captures the spirit of the times and has its place as pop music on the radio.

Pia Maria stated on their entry:

For me, the song is about strength. ‘Halo’ gives me an incredible amount of strength. It’s one of those songs that makes you feel like you can do anything.

A few words for DJ LUM!X

LUM!X (born 2002 in Rohrbach-Berg , real name Luca Michlmayr ) is an Austrian DJ and music producer . Michlmayr started producing music himself at the age of 11. By uploading bootlegs and original songs to SoundCloud and YouTube , the Swedish independent label and network Bounce United found him and signed him.

In 2019 he gained notoriety with the single Monster , whose re-recording with Gabry Ponte was able to place itself in several European singles charts. In January 2020 he released, again together with Ponte, Mokaby and DTE , the single The Passenger (LaLaLa) , a cover version of the song of the same name by Iggy Pop , which also placed in the German and Austrian singles charts and gave him several recording awards.

In April 2021 followed the song Secrets , which he produced together with Sølo, before Thunder , the fourth official collaboration with Gabry Ponte, who also supported Michlmayr in the studio with the previous songs, was released in May 2021. Thunderwas able to build on the success of Monster and Passenger (LaLaLa) and reached the single charts in several countries as well as numerous awards.

Earlier this year, Warner Music Austria presented LUM!X with a double platinum award for his hit singles Monster, a platinum award for The Passenger (LaLALa), and a gold award for the track Thunder.

The son of an Italian mother, he used to live in the host city of Turin, and so the Eurovision Song Contest represents a true highlight for the young artist:

"We already saw last year that diversity can be quite a plus at the Eurovision Song Contest, so I believe Austria definitely ticks the box by sending two teenagers to compete. At our age, there is far less pressure on us, because even if something goes wrong, other perspectives will open up.

Therefore, we are much freer and we can better focus on what we actually want and do not want to bring across as a message. I have always been interested in the Eurovision Song Contest. It’s simply the biggest thing you can stage in Europe, and I absolutely want to take part in it. Of course it’s a challenge, but we will work together as a duo and support and push each other.:

A few words for Pia Maria

Eighteen year old singer/songwriter Pia Maria from Tyrol, who features on the track, contemplates what she’ll bring to the Contest:

‘I am true to myself – I like to be funny, to cheer people up, and have a good laugh with them. I want to show others that there is so much you can do, and you don’t always have to strictly follow a line.

I have always watched the Song Contest, and I think the ESC is a totally cool event. Our aim is to bring a bit of a new dash to it and encourage our generation: ‘Seize the opportunity and make something out of it!’

    Austria in Eurovision

In 2018 Austria selected Cesar Sampson via an internal selection and represented the country with his entry Nobody but you. The Austrian act achieved a honorable 3rd placing in the Grand Final by winning  the jury voting winning the jury voting.

In 2019, the electropop singer-songwriter PÆNDA represented the coutry with her song “Limits” which unfortunately didn’t make it to the Grand final , as she finished 17th in the semi final.

Vincent Bueno was selected internally to represent the country at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam witht the song “Alive” but as the event was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, missed the joy to perform in Rotterdam.

However ORF selected Vincent internally for Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam, where he performed the song "Amen" in the second semi final show in which he was placed 12th with 66 points failing to qualify to the Grand final despite he's impressive vocally performance on stage.
