Bosnia & Herzegovina: No return at Eurovision in 2022

Bosnia & Herzegovina's national broadcaster, BHRT, has confirmed that the country will not be making its comeback at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022.
BHRT, has confirmed to ESCToday that Bosnia & Herzegovina will not return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022 marking its 6th successive year away from the competition. Therefore Bosnia & Herzegovina joins Andorra, Slovakia, Monaco and Luxembourg in the list of countries which will not return in the next Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy next May.
BHRT, continues to be under EBU sanctions due to its hefty financial debt with the European entity while the same time the broadcaster faces several problems which forbid any participation . EBU put sanctions on BHRT in December 2016, when EBU deprived the channel of the right to broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest. The Bosnian broadcaster still faces severe financial problems and is struggling against them, even more under the new extraordinary circumstances covid-19 has caused.
Bosnia-Herzegovina in Eurovision
Bosnia-Herzegovina participated for the first time in the Contest in 1993. Its best position is the 3rd in 2006, with Hari Mata Hari and Lejla. In 2013 the country withdrew from the contest to come back in 2016 just for a year and then decided to withdraw again.
In 2016, the country was represented by Dalal & Deen feat. Ana Rucner & Jala and their song “Ljubav Je” without succeeding to qualify to the grand Final,finishing at the 11th place with 104 points.
