Croatia: HRT confirms Eurovision 2022 participation; Dora to determine the ESC 2022 hopeful

The Croatian national broadcaster, HRT , has confirmed the country's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 next May in Italy and its decision to hold 'Dora' in order to select its hopeful.
One more nation added to the list of participating countries of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest as HRT has confirmed that Croatia will be present next year in Italy, marking the country's 27th participation since making its debut at the 1993 contest.
Besides confirming the nation's presence the national broadcaster confirmed also that it will be using the traditional music competition of Dora to determine the next Croatian Eurovision hopeful. HRT sttated precisely on its social media accounts:
"The beautiful September weather only contributes to the preparations for Dora and the Eurosong 2022, which are in full swing! Coming soon the Croatian national selection Eurosong, so stay tuned for more information."
Croatia in Eurovision
Croatia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with the group Put and their entry Don’t ever cry. In 1996 Maja Blagdan and in 1999 Doris Dragovic, finished in 4th place in the Grand Final, marking the country’s best results so far in the competition.
In 2018 Croatia selected internally Franka Batelic to represent the country in Lisbon with her song Crazy. Despite her dynamic performance she failed to qualify to the Grand Final. In 2019, Croatia determined its Eurovision act through the return of national selection “Dora”. Roko won Dora 2019 and represented Croatia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with his entry The Dream. Despite his amazing vocal performance the Croatian artist didn’t make it to the final.
In 2020 Damir won the national final with his entry "Divlji Vjetre" but never had the chanece to perform on the Eurovision stage in Rotterdam as the contest was cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic.
This year HRT opted again for 'Dora' as the country's national selection format, which saw Albina triumphed with her song Tik-Tok. Despite her energetic performance on stage in Rotterdam in the 1st semi final , Albina didn't make it to the Grand final show.
