Eurovision 2022: EBU accounces 'TikTok' as official Entertaiment Partner

  • The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has announced TikTok as the ‘Official Entertainment Partner’ for the 66th Eurovision Song Contest in Turin.

    TikTok will be in the heart of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin conveying through its platform the Eurovision spirit and exctiement to its over one billion members. 

    The social media platform will be delivering special material from back scenes and moments of the rehearsals in Pala Olimpico throught the two weeks. 

    Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest stated:

    ‘We’re delighted to be making TikTok the Official Entertainment Partner of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, working closely to create even more exclusive and engaging content. The TikTok community really embraced the Eurovision Song Contest last year and now we’re looking forward to giving them unprecedented access to the world’s largest live music event and inspiring a whole new generation of fans.’

    Judging from the numbers, TikTok’s engagement with Eurovision is progressively growing , with over 3.7 billion views of #Eurovision videos up to date and  over 1.4 billion video views under the hashtag #Eurovision2021 during last year's contest in Rotterdam. 

    In addition EBU confirmed that the Semi-Final shows and the Grand Final itself will be streamed via the Eurovision account, in a unique vertical format that combines the official broadcast with a view into the Contest’s backstage, while the performances are going on.The TikTok community will also have access to backstage content from all the participating artists’ first rehearsals, exclusively on TikTok.
