Eurovision 2022: Il Volo announced as Second Semi-Final Interval Act

  • RAI has annnounced that the operatic trio Il Volo will be returning on the Eurovision stage this time as interval act of the second semi-final show on May 12, 2022.

    Il Volo will be making a comeback to Eurovision to feature the 2nd semi-fnal show. Although the songs that they will  be performing on stage have not been yet announced the operatic trio is expected to treat the audience and the vierwer with an outstanding performance. 

     

    A few words for Il Volo

    Il Volo is an Italian musical group made up of two tenors and a baritone: Piero BaroneNaro , June 24, 1993), Ignazio BoschettoBologna , October 4, 1994) and Gianluca GinobleRoseto degli Abruzzi , February 11, 1995).

    They were the first Italian artists to have signed a direct contract with a US major , Geffen. They interpret songs mostly belonging to the Italian and international classical tradition, with modern style and arrangements, and pop songs in a classical key. They have also recorded songs in Spanish , English , French , German and Latin .

    The group won the 2015 Sanremo Festival with the song Grande amore ; with the same piece they went on representing Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 , finishing third.
