Eurovision 2022: Today Live from Turin The Turquoise Carpet

• Good afternoon Europe and Australia!.....This is Turin calling!! Eurovision 2022 week is about to officially kick off with the Turquoise Carpet set to take place at 16:00 CEST at Venaria Reale .

  The carpet has been unrolled, the lights are set and here come the Eurovision stars of 2022, as the Eurovision shows weeks is about to start with the Opening Ceremony and the Turquoise Carpet ready to mark the primary week of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest here in Turin. 

  This year's Opening Ceremony wil take place at the Reggia di Venaria Reale (Palace of Veneria) and it will feature a Turquoise Carpet 210 meters long. 

  About the location

  Reggia di Venaria Reale is a former royal residence and gardens located in Venaria Reale, near Turin in the Piedmont region in northern Italy. It is one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy, included in the UNESCO Heritage List in 1997. The palace complex is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture, and is filled with decorations and artwork.

  It fell into disuse at the end of the 18th century. After the Napoleonic wars, it was used for military purposes until 1978, when its renovation begun, leading to the largest restoration project in European history. It opened to the public on October 13, 2007, and it has since become a major tourist attraction and exhibition space.

   

  What to see during the Turquoise Carpet

  The delegations that have travelled to Turin will have their moment to shine in their elegant formal outfits, as they take the walk along the carpet. 

  During the Turquoise event,  the competing acts fo the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be able to meet and greet the present press media outlets. Also the attendng artists will be interviewed live by  Gabriele Corsi, Mario Acampa and Carolina Di Domenico.

  In addtion, at the opening ceremony, the Mayor of Turin, and officials from the hosting broadcaster, RAI, the City of Turin and Italy will officially welcome the delegations and the competing acts marking the beginning of the Eurovision 2022 week.
