Israel: Gaida and Shahar Admoni end their journey in X-factor Israel

  • X-factor Israel continued last evening (2/1) with five acts securing a spot in the quarterfinals while two contestants were eliminated.

    In last evening's X-factor episode, each of the contestants performed a hit from the Eurovision or pre-Eurovision pahse in order to convince the judges that they deserve to reach the quarterfinals where ten contestants will compete. One single 'No' from one of the judges would automatically put the act in the process of elimination.

    A total of seven acts out of the 12 remaining in the competition took the stage in this episode. Five moved on to the next stage while two were eliminated. 

    The acts that took the stage and performed a past Eurovision hit are: 

     

    Ilay Elmakeys - "You and I"  (Shlomo Artzi - Israel 1975 )

    Shiran and Ron - "Balav Ehad"  (Hedva Amrani )

    Inbal Bibi - "Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi"  (Celine Dion - Switzerland 1988)

    Shahar Admoni - "Arcade"   (Duncan Lawrence - Netherlands 2019)

    Gaida - "Heroes"  (Mans Zemerlow - Sweden 2015)

    Linet - "My Number One" (Helena Paparizou - Greece 2005)

    Shachar Adawi - "Diva" (Dana International) 

     

    Once the performances were completed up for elinimation were Gaida, Shahar Admoni, Ron and Shiran and Lynette who received at least one 'No' from the judges. Eventually Gaida and Shahar Admoni were the ones to leave the competition. 

    Thus the first five acts that secured a spot in the quarterfinals are: 

    1. Ilai Almkeys
    2. Ron and Shiran
    3. Inbal Bibi
    4. Linet 
    5. Shachar Adwi.

    How will the ESC 2022 hopeful and song be determined

    After a number of auditions and shows, once the semi final is held and the four finalists are determined on Channel 13, a second semi final will take place in order to determine the songs the four finalists will perform in the X-factor final show. Each of the four candidates will have to perform two songs selected out of the songs sent in during the submission period. In this parallel semifinal show one of the two candidate songs will be chosen for each of the four finalists. 

    Thus, the final of X-factor will see the four finalists perform the song chosen in the side semi final show while the final winner will secure the right to represent Israel in Turin at Eurovision 2022.
