Italy: Sanremo Festival 2022 fourth night's results

Sanremo Festival 2022 continued last evening with the fourth show and the 25 participants taking the stage once again at Teatro Ariston to perfrom cover songs.

Following the first night's show, the second show's results and the third show Sanremo festival moved on to its fourth night during which the 25 competing acts will take the stage to perform cover songs.

The special evening of the Covers returned last evening , during which the artists performed - alone or with a guest agreed with Rai and with the Artistic Direction - a piece taken not only from the Italian repertoire, but also from the international one of the 60 ', 70' or 80 '.

The 2022 edition

Twenty-five artists are competing in the 72nd edition of Sanremo with twenty-five unpublished songs and a renewed voting mechanism with three independent juries for accredited journalists in the first two evenings (print, Radio and TV, Web) and the debut of the “Demoscopic 1000” jury, that will determine along with televoting the final outcome.

Out of the 25 contestants, 22 have been invited by the artistic director, Amadeus, whilst the last 3 have came out of the Sanremo Giovani festival. From Tuesday 1 February live on Rai1, RaiPlay and Radio2 - the festival will unfold without any eliminations reaching the final night on February 5, during which the winner will be declared.

Fourth night's show

Sanremo Festival 2022 is set to unfold over five nights from February 1 to February 5, 2022. For each show Amadeus will have on his side one more act to co-host the show. Last night he conducted the show alongside with Maria Chiara Giannetta. In addition, Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, Orietta Berti and Fabio Rovazzi featured the show as guest stars.

The results of the evening were determined 34% by the public votiing, 33% by the demoscopic jury's votes and the last 33% by the press jury's votes.

For the cover songs' show winner was declared Gianni Morandi, with Mahmood & Blanco following in second place and Elisa coming third.

Here is how the overall scoreboard developed after the fourth night's performances:

Mahmood & Blanco are still in the lead after four nights while Gianni Morandi isn't now second with Elisa in third place. The top 5 closes with Irama and Sangiovanni.

Sanremo festival 2022 concludes Saturday evening with the Grand final show whic will be determing the next Italian Eurovision representative.
