Portugal: Festival da Canção 2022 First Semi-final results

  • The first five finalists of the Portuguese national selection for Eurovision 2022 have been determined with the first semi final show of Festival da Canção 2022.

    Portugal is using once again its tradional national selection format of Festival da Canção which is running for its 56th edition. A total of 20 composers are behind the competing entries of Festival da Canção 2022. From those 16 were invited directly by RTP while the rest four were selected by the public submissions.

    The 1st semi final show took place in RTP studios in Lisbon and was hosted by Sónia Araújo and Jorge Gabriel.

     

    A total of 10 acts will compete in this first semi final heat in the following running order: 

    1. Os Quatro e Meia – Amanhã

     

    2. TheMisterDriver – CaliSun

     

    3. Diana Castro – Ginger Ale

     

    4. FF – Como É Bom Esperar Alguém

     

    5. Norton – Hope

     

    6. Aurea – Why?

     

    7. Kumpania Algazarra – A Minha Praia

     

    8. MARO – saudade, saudade

     

    9. Valas & Os Astronautas – Odisseia

     

    10. Fado Bicha – Povo Pequenino

     
     
    The results
    A combination of jury and public voting ( 50% share each) determined which five acts qualified to the Grand final of Festival da Canção 2022 . Namely those are: 
    • Os Quatro e Meia – Amanhã
    • Aurea – Why?
    • FF – Como É Bom Esperar Alguém
    • Diana Castro – Ginger Ale
    • MARO – Saudade, saudade
     
    The Portugues national selection will continue on Monday, March 7 with the second semi final show during which 10 more acts will compete for the rest five spots in the Grand final.
