Spain: Nieves Álvarez will be the Eurovision 2022 spokesperson

  • The Spanish national  broadcaster, RTVE, has confirmed Nieves Álvarez as the country's spokesperson for Eurovision 2022. 

    Model and TV presenter Nieves Álvarez will be revealing the Spanish jury's 12 points for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Turin. 

    Nieves is no stranger to the Eurovision audience as this will be her fifth time serving as the Spanish spokeperson at Eurovision. The RTVE presenter  made her debut as a spokesperson in 2017  when the festival was held in the capital of Ukraine, in Kiev. That year the journalist communicated the votes of the Spanish jury with the  Sagrada Familia in Barcelona  in the background. In Lisbon 2018 she did it from the Royal Palace of Madrid, in Tel Aviv 2019 with the  Alhambra in Granada  and in Rotterdam 2021 she returned to the background of the city of Madrid.

    This year the  ambassador of Spanish fashion will reveal the jury's votes from Benidorm, the coastal city that hosted the Spanish national selection that saw Chanel winning the competition with her song "SloMo"

     

    Eurovision 2022

    A total of 40 nations will take part in the 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin. With the Big-5 countries (Italy, Germany, Spain, UK and France) qualifying directly to the Grand final on May 14, the rest 35 countries will pass through two semi finals set for 10 and 12 May.  All three live shows of Eurovision 2022 will be held in  Pala Olimpico in Turin, Italy. This year's slogan is "The Sound of beauty".
