Tonight: Germany selects for Eurovision 2022 with the national final

  • Germany is holding this evening their national final which will determine the country's hopeful for Eurovision 2022. 

    Germany is determining this year its Eurovision 2022 act and entry via the national final "Germany 12 points' which is set to take place tonight at 21:00 CET in Berlin. Barbara Schöneberger will host the event, while the following acts will feature the show as guest stars: Conchita Wurst (Austrian Eurovision 2014 winner), Jane Comerford (leading vocalist of Texas Lightning, Germany 2006), Thomas Hermanns (German spokesperson 2005-2008), Bülent Ceylan (comedian), Jamala (Ukrainian Eurovision 2016 winner)

    A total of 944 applications were received for this year's national selection. An ESC expert jury with seven members shorlisted six acts that will be competing for the right to represent Germany at Eurovision 2022 in Turin. 

    Therefore tonight on stage we will see the six following acts: 

    1. Malik Harris – Rockstars
    2. Maël & Jonas –I Swear To God
    3. Eros Atomus – Alive
    4. Emily Roberts – Soap
    5. Felicia Lu – Anxiety
    6. Nico Suave & Team Liebe – Hallo Welt (Hello World)

     

    The results

    The outcome of the national final will be determined exclusively by public voting. 50% of the public vote will come from the radio voting while the rest 50% by televoting during the show. The voting on radio haas already opened since Monday and will conclude 1 minute before the live show. The results from the radio voting will be revealed by the following radio spokespersons:

    • Malte Janssen (Bremen Vier)
    • Tobi Kämmerer (hr3)
    • Sarah von Neuburg and Lars-Christian Karde (MDR Jump)
    • Elke Wiswedel and Jens Mahrhold (NDR 2)
    • Daniel Simarro (SR 1)
    • Constantin Zöller (SWR3)
    • Jan Malte Andresen (WDR 2)
