Estonia: Alika with the song 'Bridges' to Eurovision 2023

  • Alika is the winner of the Estonian national final Eesti Laul 2023 with the song 'Bridges' and will be flying the flag in Liverpool. 

    Estonia has decided this evening to send Alika to Liverpool representing Estonia at Eurovision 2023, as the national selection concluded today with the Grand final of Eesti Laul 2023 taking place at the Tondiraba Ice Hall in the capital Tallinn with the  Tõnis Niinemets and Grete Kuld guiding the audience as presenters of the show. 

    A total of 12 finalists took part in the final with the ambition to win that one ticket to Liverpool this May. Namely the acts that competed tonight are: 

    1. Meelik – “Tuju” (Mood)
    2. Inger – “Awaiting You”
    3. Janek – “House of Glass”
    4. Elysa – “Bad Philosophy”
    5. M Els – “So Good (At What You Do)”
    6. Bedwetters – “Monsters”
    7. Andreas – “Why Do You Love Me”
    8. Alika – “Bridges”
    9. Anett and Fredi – “You Need to Move On”
    10. Ollie – “Venom”
    11. Mia – “Üks samm korraga” (One step at a time)
    12. Sissi – “Lighthouse”

     

    The result

    The outcome of the final was determined through a two round voting process. In the first round of voting, a jury and pub voting selected the top three songs while in the second round to follow the public's verdict will exclusive select which one of the top 3 will fly the flag in Liverpool. 

    The juries in the first round votes had voted as following:

    The three acts that received the most points from the combined results of televoting and the jury were: 

    1. Alika – “Bridges”
    2. Bedwetters – “Monsters”
    3. Ollie – “Venom”

    In the second round the public exclusively decided which act will fly to Liverpool declaring Alika winner of the national final leaving behind second Ollie with 'Venom' and in third place Bedwetters with 'Monsters'. 

     

    A few words for Alika

    Alika Milova (born 5 September 2002), known mononymously as Alika, is an Estonian singer from Narva. She rose to prominence in 2021 with her victory at the eighth edition of the Estonian talent show Eesti otsib superstaari, which earned her a record deal with Universal Music. She has participated in many singing competitions, including The Baltic Voice, New Wave Junior, Kaunas Talent, Bravo Laulukonkurss and Berlin Perle.

    She has relased over the last two year several singles among which  Õnnenumber (2021), Bon Appetit (2022) , C'est La Vie (2022), Bridges (2022).
