Greece: Fotis Sergoulopoulos confirmed as the Eurovision 2023 spokesperson

  • The TV presenter, Fotis Sergoulopoulos has been appointed as Greece's Eurovision 2023 spokesperson and will be revealing the Greek jury's 12 points in the Grand final.

    Fotis Sergoulopoulos will be the person revealing the Greek jury's votes during the voting countdown that will take place in the Grand final live show on May 13, 2023 in Liverpool. 

    The final outcome of the Eurovision Song Contest  is determined 50% by the votes of the national juries which are cast during the jury show, one day before the live grand final show and 50% by the public vote the night of the grand final. The presentation of the jury votes is held by the national spokespersons the night of the Grand final. 

     

    A few words for Fotis Sergoulopoulos

    Born in 5 September of 1963, Fotis Sergoulopoulos is a greek TV presenter, actor, businessman, journalist and director. 

    He was born in 1963 in Athens where he grew up. After finishing school he settled in France, where he studied theater and acting.

    He made his first television appearance in the season 1988-1989 on ET1 performing a small role. Some more participations in more television series followed. In the 2021-2022 season he starred in the daily series of ERT1.

    He became more widely known on television as a TV presenter. In 1997, while presenting night shows on the radio station KLIK FM 88, he received an offer from the television station ANT1 for the position of co-presenter of Anna Druza on the lifestyle show "Katse Kala!". So in the 1997-1998 season they presented the show together. The departure of Druza from the position of presenter created the television duo Sergoulopoulos-Bakodimou, when in the 1998-1999 season they were invited to present "Katse Kala!" together. For the next 18 years they continued as a television duo presenting various entertainment shows on various channels.

    He made his film debut in 1987 in a video. This was followed by the film "639 an on nights" in 1990, while in 1996 he took part in the biographical film production of Cavafy. In 1999 he collaborated with Nikos Perakis in the film "Female Company". This was followed by a small part in the romantic comedy "Molis Xorisa" in 2008, while in 2011 he played himself in the film "Loufa kai Apallagi: Sirines sto Aigaio". In 2015, he had one of the leading roles in the comedy "Apopse Trome stis Iokastis".

    In addtion ERT has confimed that the duo Maria Kozakou and Jenny Melita will be responsible to guide ERT's viewers and listeners of the radio the Second Program set to hit the screen on May 9, 11 and 13, 2023 at 21:00 CET. Maria Kozakou is no stranger to the audience as she has servered as Eurovision commentator for years.  

    This year Greece is represented by Victor Vernicos with the song 'What They Say' which will compete in the 8th place of the 2st semi final on May 11.
