Italy: Sanremo Giovani 2022 qualifiers determined; Sanremo 2023 song titles released

  • The Sanremo Giovani 2022 took place last evening determining the six acts that advance to Sanremo 2023 in February. 

    gIANMARIA  singing La città che odi won Sanremo Giovani 2022 and along with five more acts will be advancing to Festival di Sanremo 2023 next February. 

    A total of 12 acts competed in the Sanremo Giovani festival 2022 . The 12 candidates were selected via the Area Sanremo competition and submissions for the festival itself. 

    The 12 candidates that took to the stage were namely the following: 

    • gIANMARIA – La città che odi
    • Giuse The Lizia – Sincera
    • Maninni – Mille Porte
    • Mida – Malditè
    • OLLY – L’anima balla
    • Sethu – Sottoterra
    • Shari – Sotto Voce
    • Will – Le cose più important
    • Colla Zio – Asfalto
    • Fiat 131 – Pupille
    • Noor – Tua Amelie
    • Romeo & Drill – Giorno di scuola

     

    The winning entry and the additional five qualifiers to Sanremo 2023 are:

    • OLLY – “L’anima balla” (The soul dances)
    • Sethu – “Sottoterra” (Underground)
    • Shari – “Sotto Voce” (Whisper)

    During the show the song titles of the 22 competing acts of Festival di Sanremo 2023 that have been previously announced were revealed:

    Sanremo 2023

    Sanremo Festival will be serving again as the country's format to determine the act and song that will be eligible to represent Italy in the 67th edition of the contest. The 73rd Sanremo Festival will be hosted by Amadeus for a fourth year in a row. The iconic music competition will be taking place next year from February 7 to February 11.

    Sanremo will unfold over five evenings and will see 28 acts taking the stage. The fourth evening will be dedicated to the Covers: on this occasion the artists will be able to draw from a repertoire ranging from 1 January 1960 to 31 December 1999, reinterpreting a song together with a guest identified by them and approved by the Artistic Direction. The most voted interpretation will receive a special award.
