The Eurovision week is progressing to the Semi Final 1 Live Show taking place this evening at M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool at 21:00 CET.
As Eurovision week is unwinding , following last evening's Jury rehearsal show for the Semi Final 1 competing acts, tonight the Semi-final 1 LIve show will take place in M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
The story so far
How did we end up in Liverpool? Since Ukraine who won last year's contest couldn't host the contest due to the war in the region the EBU released a statement revealing that the 2022 runner-up, United Kingdom. Then the race among the British cities went on with 7 of them shortlisted to continue in the race. Out of the seven candidate cities two went through to the final stage (Glasgow and Liverpool) with Liverpool eventually named Eurovision 2023 host city under the slogan 'United by Music'.
Semi-final One show
A total of 37 countries will be taking part in the 67th edition , with 31 countries competing in the two semifinals on May 9 and 11 while the Big 5 countries ( United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain and Italy) will qualify directly to the Grand final on May 13, 2023 along with last year's winning country, Ukraine.
Julia Sanina, Hannah Waddingham and Alesha Dixon. will have the honor to guide the viewers throughout tonight's show. In this evening's semi-final One 15 competing acts will take the stage and perform their entries. Namely here is how the show will unfold on screen:

What else to see tonight
As this year's contest is held on behalf of Ukraine the organisers pay respect to the nation in many way. The show will kick off with Julia Sanina,member of the band The Hardkiss, performing Mayak and Together in electric dreams. As the night progresses, the interval act will feature past Eurovision participant Alyosha (2010) singing Ordinary world along with with Rebecca Ferguson. In addtion, world star Rita Ora will grace the stage by performing some of her worlwide hits and her newly released single Praising you.
The results
While in previous years the result was determing 50% by the jury votes count and the 50% by televoting, this year the audience will exclusively select the 10 qualifiers that will advance to the final. Yhe viewers in the competing countries and those of France, Germany and Italy will be able to cast their vote to determine the results. In addition in this edition we will have an extra set fo votes coming from the Rest of the world, with the international vierwers having their say on who will go through to the final.
How to vote
