Eurovision 2024: The Big 5 countries and Sweden to deliver live performances in the semi-finals

The Big-5 countries and Sweden will introduce their entries to the audience through live performances during the semi-final live shows.
The EBU and SVT the Swedish national broadcaster have decided to implement changes in this year's Eurovision format.
The European Broadcasting Union along with the hosting broadcaster , Sweden's SVT have decided to bring the Big-5 countries (Spain, UK, Germany, France and Italy) and Sweden to perform live during the semi-final live shows. Their performance will not be competing in the show but instead of the reharsals clips which were used in the past to introduce them to the audience this year we wll have them on stage delivering live their entries.
The Big-5 countries and Sweden will appear in the two semi-final according to the allocation draw that determined in which semi the will be voting:
Semi-final 1
- Germany
- UK
- Sweden
Semi-final 2
- Spain
- Italy
- France
Martin Österdahl the EBU's Executive Supervisor of ESC stated:
Finally we get to see Europe’s largest countries and the hosts perform their songs in full in the Semi-Finals, meaning there’s even more entertainment for fans and viewers and, like all the qualifiers, the Big 5 and host country now get to perform their songs live twice on the Eurovision stage.
Eurovision 2024
Loreen won the 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden with “Tattoo” . Malmö will host the contest for the third time, having previously hosted in 1992 and 2013.
The slogan of next year's edition will be 'United By Music' which will serve onwards as the permanent slogan of the contest.
Eurovision 2024 is set to unfold on May 7, 9 with the two semifinals and on May 11 with the Grand final. A total of 37 countires will be participating in the 68th edition .
