Italy: Angelina Mango wins Festival di Sanremo 2024 singing 'La Noia'.

  • Angelina Mango triumphed at Sanremo Festival 2024 with her song 'La Noia' winning the 74th edition of the iconic Italian music festival. 

    After four nights of live performances and sevreal guest artists the moment of truth for the 30 competing artist of Sanremo Festival 2024 arrived with the final show. The winner will secure the “right of first refusal”, meaning the right to represent Italy only if they wish to do so.

     The night opened in Teatro Ariston with the national anthem of Italy performed by Army Music Band.

     

    Amadeus was the main host of the nigh with Rosario Fiorello co-hosting the show and treating the audience with a  performance  of a medley of Michael Jackson's most know hits.

     

    The competing part 

    The 30 contestants took the stage for the last time this evening performing in their best way their entries. Here are thge 30 competing acts and their performances:

    Special Guests

    The show featured several internationallly acclaimed artists such as Luca Argentero  along with the Italian actor Claudio Gioè, also the Italian ballet dancer Roberto Bolle givin also an impressive ballet performance on stage, joined by his dancers. The Italian rappers Tananai performed live at the square of Sanremo, along with rapper Tedua who appeared on cruise boat Costa Smeralda singing Red Lights. However,  Gigliola Cinquetti, stood out with her appearcance on stage as she was the  first Italian winner in Eurovision Song Contest back in 1964, with hersong “Non ho l’età”.

    The results

    The results of the 5th show came through two round of voting. In the first round the voting opened just before the first act out of the 30 took the stage and was determined exclusively by public voting. The result was added to all the results of the previous four night in order for a top five to stand out. In the second round the five only went into a second voting and the public, the jury of the press and the jury of the radio casted their votes for the final winner. 

    Once the 5th night televoting result was added to that of the previous nights this is how the overall ranking came out:

    3. Angelina Mango – “La noia”
    4. Geolier – “I’p me, tu p’te”
    5. Annalisa – “Sinceramente”
    6. Mahmood – “Tuta gold”

    9. Alessandra Amoroso – “Fino a qui”
    10. Alfa – “Vai!”

     Second Round of Voting

    While a recap of the top five songs was displayed on screen the public had the chance to cast once again and for the final time their votes. The voting formula to determine the Festival’s winner as well, was determined by a voting split system among the public again, influencing the 34%, the jury of the press TV and web, influencing the 33% and the jury of the radio holding the rest 33%. 

    The final results saw Angelina Mango topping the scoreboard with Geolier coming second even though he had won the public vote. Here is the final top five ranking:

    1. Angelina Mango – “La noia” (Boredom) – 40.3% of votes
    2. Geolier – “I p’me, tu p’ te” (I for me, you for you [in Neapolitan dialect]) – 25.2% of votes
    3. Annalisa – “Sinceramente” (Sincerely) – 17.1% of votes
    4. Ghali – “Casa mia” (My home) – 10.5% of votes
    5. Irama – “Tu no” (Not you) – 6.9% of votes

    Angelina has the right to refuse or accept to represent Italy at the next Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo.
