  • Sweden's quest for Eurovision 2024 kicked off tonight with the first heat of Melodifestivalen 2024. 

    Unlike previous years where we had four semifinals and one second chance round, in this year's edition a total of 30 artists will compete in five semifinals with the the first two acts on the scoreboard securing a spot in the Grand final. The thrid and foruth act from each semi final will go into a special voting to take place once the fifth heat is completed and will fill in the last two spots of the Grand final. 

     

    This year's edition is hosted by Carina Berg. This first Melfest heat unfolded in the following running order: 

     

    Adam Woods – “Supernatural”

    Interval Acts

    A-Teensreunited on stage in this evening's show to celebrate their 25th anniversary. For the first time after eighteen years,Marie Serneholt, Sara Lumholdt, Dhani Lennevald and Amit Paul performed together treating the audience with some of the most iconic ABBA's songs and of their own hits also.

    Next week Melodifestivalen continues with the second heat and one more set of six acts taking the stage.
