Along with the Big-5 country was rehearsing today the host nation, with Jeangu Macrooy making his first rehearsal of 'Birth of a New Age' .

Jeangu Macrooy is born in 1993 in Paramaribo, Suriname. His musical journey begins when he receives a guitar from his parents at the age of thirteen and forms a musical duo with his twin brother Xillan. But Jeangu wants more, so in 2014 he boarded the plane to the Netherlands. There he meets producer / composer Perquisite, with whom he enters into a musical collaboration and who signs him with his label Unexpected Records. From that moment Jeangu steps through the Dutch music world with seven-mile boots.

With two successful albums to his name and several sold-out club tours, Jeangu is increasingly revealing his potential and taking the next international step on the road ahead with his Eurovision participation.

    The Staging

Jeangu Macrooy, The Netherlands, First Rehearsal, Rotterdam Ahoy, 13 May 2021

Jengu Macrooy takes the stage for his first rehearsal with one dancer and 2 other vocalists-dancers, among whom is his twin brother.  Blue, black and white are the colors dominating the stage. During the bridge of the song they dance in the corridor between the two stages while sunset colors feature the scene behind. By the end of the song they have moved on to the small stage with the led screens  filled with colors. Throughout the show we see in the background the phrase of the song No Wan Man E Broko Mi and the translation of You Can’t Break Me.

Very good vocals from Jeangu who seems really confident singing on home soil.
