Eurovision 2021: The new logo for next year's Eurovision Song Contest has been unveiled

-
The EBU and the three Dutch ESC 2021 host broadcasters have unveiled the new logo for next year's Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
The production team of Eurovision 2021 (EBU along with the three Dutch broadcasters AVROTROS, NOS, NPO) has revealed the new logo for the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, which showcases the connection between the host city and the competing countries.
While the ESC 2020 logo was inspired by the countries' flags in a combination that showcased the 65 year history of the Eurovision Song Contest, the 2021 logo indicates a world map where Rotterdam stands as the heart of Europe.
Eurovision 2021 Executive Producer Sietse Bakker elaborates on the new logo's meaning:
"The logo connects Rotterdam with the capitals of the participating countries and symbolises coming together, regardless of the form.
The new logo shows that we are open to everything the participants have to offer. The Eurovision Song Contest will continue next year, no matter what and we hope to welcome the participants, press and fans to Rotterdam in May; physical if possible, virtual if necessary."
And goes further on outlining the fresh and positive aspect of the new logo:
"Thanks to developments regarding vaccines and reliable rapid tests, we are now cautiously optimistic about what can be done responsibly in May. And all of Europe is now watching us. With creativity and decisiveness, inspired by that typical Rotterdam resilience, we are going to make something very special out of it, I am convinced of that!"
As last year, the logo and concept was developed by agency Clever ° Franke. The design of the 2020 edition was awarded a European Design Award and a Red Dot Design Award. Co-founder Gert Franke said:
"We have extended the style from last year to 2021 and retained the "simple, intelligent, minimalist and experimental" elements but then added a "festive touch, to celebrate the return of the Eurovision Song Contest."
Eurovision 2021 is set to take place next year in Rotterdam and will unfold on May 18,20 and 22 May at Rotterdam Ahoy.
