Tonight: Watch Live From Rotterdam The 2021 Eurovision Grand Final Show

  • The 2021 Eurovision Grand Final show is set to take place this evening Live in Rotterdam and will hit the screen at 21:00 CEST with 26 countries competing on stage for this year's trophy. 

    Here we after two years of anticipation after last year's cancellation due to the covid-19 pandemic, Rotterdam has been making it happen and has brought back the biggest TV song contest with million viewers across the world!

    After two weeks of rehearsals, two semi final shows the night for the Grand Final show of the 65th Eurovision Song Contest is about to hit the screen this evening at 21:00 CEST live from Rotterdam Ahoy in the Netherlands. 

    A total of 26 countries will be competing in this evening's show. The 20 qualifiers from the 1st and 2nd  semi final shows along with the Big-5 countries and the host nation, the Netherlands that have pre-qualified. Hosting the Grand Final will be singer Edsilia Rombley, who represented the host nation twice in the past (1998 and 2007), actor and presenter Chantal Janzen, singer and television host Jan Smit along with  the popular YouTuber NikkieTutorials.

    The running order has been decided by the producers (Dutch broadcasters AVROTROS, NOS and NPO) and is set as below:

     Interval Acts

    The opening starts with a recording of the reigning Eurovision winner, Duncan Laurence. Whilst he is playing on a piano, video clips are shown of people from different countries celebrating moments of life. Then the the flag parade will take place with the comepting acts called on stage having their nation's flag as a backdrop. 

     

    Music Binds Us

    The segment begins with a video clip of a boy declaring his love to a girl as they run away together the city during the night. The orchestra is featured in a spectacular way on a Eurovision branded tram. The orchestra moves  onto  the Rotterdam bridge with the kids run into  Afrojack who is goes behind his DJ deck and is joined by Wulf singing on the bridge. Next up will be Glennis Grace singing (Netherlands 2005) "Titanium", a song orginally performed by David Guetta ft. Sia.

    Next will to be seen is the 3rd part of Nikkie's “Eurovision Tutorials”, giving tips on how react during the voting part of the contest, while Nikkie will go on with some backstage footage from the last two weeks in Rotterdam

    In addition previous Eurovision Winners feature the show with video clips from Anne-Marie David (Luxembourg 1973), Izhar Cohen (Israel 1978), Ruslana (Ukraine 2004), and Niamh Kavanagh (Ireland 1993) talk about the past and how the whole impact from their Eurovision experience. 

     

    Rocking the Roof 

    The most impressive part of the interval act will be the Roof top performances! Six Eurovision winners will perform their winning entries on top of Rotterdam’s most iconic buildings . Namely we will see the six acts sing on the roof tops of Maassilo, Hotel New York, and the Boijmans Van Beuningen Depot Museum):

    • Teach-In – Ding-A-Dong (The Netherlands 1975)
    • Sandra Kim J'aime La Vie (Belgium 1986)
    • Lenny Kuhr De Troubadour  (Netherlands 1969)
    • Helena Paparizou – My Number One  (Greece 2005)
    • Lordi Hard Rock Hallelujah (Finland 2006)

     

    Last but not least the acts that broguht with his victory the contest on home soil, the Eurovision 2019 winner, Duncan Laurence, sitting behind the piano in a dark scenery, will begin performing "Arcade", his ESC 2019 winning song , followed by the debut of his new track "Stars".

     

    How to Watch the Grand Final Show

    The first semi-final of Eurovision 2021 will hit the screen  at 21:00 CEST. You can watch the show either via the national broadcasters of the participating nations or via the live stream on eurovision.tv and the official Eurovision YouTube channel.
