Bulgaria: BNT to run a voting for fans to crown their ESC 2020 winner

  • The Bulgarian national broadcaster, BNT, will run a special online voting giving the chance to fans’ to crown a winner among the Eurovision 2020 entries. 

    As the Eurovision song Contest 2020 has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, BNT joins the list broadcasters that will be runing special votings seeking for the  fans’ Eurovision 2020 favorite.

    The Bulgarian broadcaster has revelaled through its official Twitter account that from May 11 and during the week the viewers will be able to cast its vote for the ESC 2020 winner. The online voting will be processed via the BNT1 application and will remain open until the special show ‘Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light’ and continue during the show.

    However, BNT hasn't revealed how ti will announce the winner or if it will air an alternative program during which the result will be unveiled. 

    Victoria was internally selected to represent the country performing the song  “Tears Getting Sober”  which was one of the favorites to win the Eurovision 2020 before the competition was canceled. BNT has confirmed that Victoria will be the country's representative at Eurovision 2021. However, Victoria will have to find a new song after EBU's decision that ESC 2020 entries will not be eligible to compete in next year's edition.
