EBU: ESC Youtube channel to broadcast the two part show 'Eurovision Song Celebration 2020'

No doubt, the EBU and the three Dutch Eurovision 2020 host broadcasters intend to make the best out of this year’s unusual Eurovision season, after the unprecedent cancellation of Eurovision 2020. A two episode show titled “Eurovision Song Celebration 2020” will be aired on the official Youtube channel, on Tuesday 12 and Thursday 14 May at 21:00 CEST aiming to convey the excitement and the Eurovision party feeling to all the fans.
In addtion to the special show ‘Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light’ the EBU will be broadcasting through the official Eurovision Song Contest channel on YouTube , two more special shows the dates the two Eurovision semi final shows were initially set to take place, on Tuesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 14. All the songs will be played and presented in the official Semi-Final running orders decided by this year’s producers.
On Tuesday 12 May, the EBU will spotlight the songs that would have been shown in the first Semi-Final including host country the Netherlands and 2 of the Big 5 countries: Germany and Italy. The second online show, broadcast on Thursday 14 May, will feature the songs chosen for the second Semi-Final and will include the rest of the Big 5 countries: France, Spain and the United Kingdom.
FANS INVITED TO CELEBRATE ALL TOGETHER
In order to honor the ongoing support and devotion by Eurovision fan community, the Eurovision Song Celebration shows will include the first-ever Fan Recaps . Instead of the classic recap of the participating songs, that we usesd to see in the shows, EBU is inviting the fans to sing, dance, jump and party along with Eurovision songs of 2020 ,setting up a continental Eurovision party!
Fans get ready and start preparing yourselves ! Fans are invited to find a proper outfit, set up a room and the background and fill in the scene with all the flags and props that will showcase their own Eurovision party feeling iby recording themselves dancing to the 20-second snippets of all – or a selection – of your favourite acts. Fan can submit their videos until May 5. The submission however should comply with some technical terms in order to be taken in account. These are listed below:
- Use the device in 16:9, horizontal/landscape
- Record in 1920×1080 HD
- Use the latest device you have, when possible, with a tripod or on a steady base
- Submit the files in MP4 or MOV format (your device should do this automatically)
- Ensure you are well lit by a window or a light near your device
- Include your name, country, age(s), email address and phone number
Fans should send the file in the highest resolution via WeTransfer to [email protected] (alternatively via Google Drive, OneDrive, Myairbridge.com or Dropbox)
