United Kingdom: BBC to broadcast the special show “Eurovision: Come Together”

  • The BBC has annonced that it will be broadcasting a special show titled “Eurovision: Come Together” on May 16, replacing the cancelled  Eurovision Song Contest due to the coroanvirus pandemic.  

    BBC is announcing  a range of programmes announced  that will bring the nation together and provide great British entertainment during these difficult times. For fans across the country lamenting the loss of Eurovision and Glastonbury, the British broadcaster will bring the nation together to experience both.

     A special Eurovision show ‘Eurovision- Come Together‘ will be aired on BBC One and hosted by Graham Norton on Saturday 16 May. The show will feature classic Eurovision performances, entertaining interviews, including this year’s British hopeful James Newman aiming to connect the people with the Eurovision spirit that would have seen that day before the cancellation.

    Director-General Tony Hall says:

    “The BBC will also deliver a range of virtual events to replace some of those that have now had to be cancelled. We can all still have a Eurovision moment, even if it is different from the past. Our pledge is offer the best escapism, fun and distraction we can, alongside the news and information everyone needs.”

    The United Kingdom had internally selected James Newman to represent the country at the Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam with his entry My Last Breath.
