Australia's Montaigne has shed some light on her Eurovision 2021 staging of her entry "Technicolour" next May in Rotterdam.
Following her live performance of "Technicolour" at this year's Mardi Gras, the Australian hopeful for Eurovision 2021 has treated her fans with some details of her performance in Rotterdam.
As Montaigne said her performance in Rotterdam will differ from that in Mardi Gras. Specifically she said that her final performance will be :
“fun and cute and silly and snarky, that kind of thing, or something like that. Something a bit more ironic, But not ironic in a cynical way, ironic in a self-aware way.”
Montaigne also revealed that the visuals of her ESC entry have been inspired by Manga “Sailor Moon” and several scenes resemble to the video game “Final Fantasy 10” with the element of magic dominating the scenery.
The choreography is work of Marko Panzic who was set to contribute in Montaigne’s staging of her Eurovision 2020 song “Don’t Break Me”. Miriam Sedic and Josie McManis will be working on her outfits used in the performance whole Michelea Simone and Ricki Crisillio will be responsible for her Hair styling and makeup.
Regarding her live on tape performance, that all competing countries should send in as their back performance in case they aren't able to travel to Rotterdam due to the covid-19 restrictions, will be filmed next week. The Australian act explained that the studio in which the recording will take place has less facilities than they'll have in Rotterdam which means that the back performance will be different and more simple than the one planned for the live performance in Rotterdam.
Montaigne's song for Eurovision 2021 "Technicolour" is an uptempo dance-pop song with lyrics that serve a fun and optimistic mood. It's a call for a spirtual party with the Australian act showcasing her vocal skills. The Australian 2021 entry has been penned and composed by Jessica Cerro and Dave Hammer with the second one being behind the production of the song.
