Australia: Electric Fields to Eurovision 2024 with the song “One Milkali (One Blood)”

The Australian national broadcaster, SBS, has internally selected Electric Fields to represent the land down under at Eurovision 2024 singing “One Milkali (One Blood)”.
The band Electric Fields will have the honour to represent the Australia at the 68th Eurovsion Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden.
The group is no stranger to the Eurovision family as the were the runner-ups in the Australian national selection in 2019.
A few words for Electric Fields
Electric Fields is an Australian electronic music duo made up of vocalist Zaachariaha Fielding and keyboard player and producer Michael Ross. Electric Fields combine modern electric-soul music with Aboriginal culture and sing in Pitjantjatjara, Yankunytjatjara and English. The duo have released an EP and several singles.
The pair has been performing as Electric Fields since 2015. Their repertoire moves across pop, soul, and electronica, while being described as "Daft Punk meets Nina Simone in the Deep Forest". In June 2016, the duo released their debut EP Inma (which derives its name from the cultural ceremony of Aṉangu women known as inma.
In December 2018, the duo was announced as one of the entrants in Eurovision – Australia Decides in an attempt to represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.lectric Fields performed at the competition with their song "2000 and Whatever" on 9 February 2019 and came second in both Jury and Audience vote, and second overall score.
Australia In Eurovision
Australia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest eight times since their debut at the 2015 contest in Vienna. Although Australia’s first participation in the 2015 contest was set to be a single time participation, the country was invited to take part in the following years successively. Last year after an agreement with EBU, Australia secured its participation up to 2023. However, Australia was on the list of confirmed countries for Eurovision 2024.
The country’s best result in the contest is Dami Im’s 2nd place in 2016. Australia has also finished in the top ten in three of its other appearances in the contest, with Guy Sebastian finishing fifth in 2015, and Isaiah Firebrace finishing ninth in 2017 . In 2019 , Kate Miller Heidke won the first national final to take place in the country and represented the land of Down Under at Tel Aviv with her song “Zero Gravity”. Kate achieved a 9th placing marking the country’s return back in the top 10.
In 2022 national final winner Sheldon Riley flew the flag in Turin singing 'Not the same' which finished 15th in the Grand final with a total of 125 points ( 123 from the jury and 2 from televoting).
Last year the band Voyager, was internally selected to represent the country with the song “Promise” in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Voyager achieved Australia’s fifth top 10 finish at the contest, coming 9th in the Grand final.
