  • Eberhard Forcher, ORF's  artists scout for Eurovision has revealed that four acts remain in the race of the Austrian selection for Eurovision 2022.

Talking on Merci, Chérie – Der Eurovision Podcast, Mr Forcher shed some light on the Austrian Eurovision 2022 selection that is underway. Namely, he mentioned that the broadcaster reached out to a wide number of artists with a total of 20 eventually submitting demos for the contest. Out of those 20 four were shortlisted and remain in the run for representing Austria at Eurovision 2022 in Turin.

Out of the four candidates remaining in the selection process three of them are established live artists and one is outstanding at the moment on Spotify. The four acts are at present time finalizing the versions of their potential Eurovision entries which will be sent in to ORF the next days.

The Austrian broadcaster is expected to conclude the selection process over the next couple of weeks while the revelation of the representative will probably take place in mid December. However, more specific details for the dates are expected to go public by the broadcaster itself in the following weeks.
