Austria: Vincent Bueno to release his ESC 2021 entry

  • The Austrian national broadcaster, ÖRF, announced today that the nation's Eurovision entry which Vincent Bueno will be performing in Rotterdam will be unveiled on March 10. 

    Following last week revelation of the title of Vincent's entry, callled 'Amen' ORF revealed today that the song will be released on March 10.

    The broadcaster will hold on that day at 10am CET a special press conference during which Vincent song's will be presented with all the background of it.  The Austrian representative, has previously shared that his ESC 2021 entry is something different and not close to his personal style of songs. 

    Vincent recorded in Switzerland, Zurich his song behind of which is a outstanding creative team that includes Ashley Hicklin (Bright Sparks)  who penned the Belium entry in 2010 and Spain's in 2020, the producer Jonas Thander while on the vocals we have Tobias Carshey.

    In addition ORF has opted for Marvin Dietmann as the country's stage director. Dietmann is also responsible for the Cypriot entry's staging  this year while in the past he contributed to Austria's staging arrangement in the edition of 2014, 2016 and 2018. 

     

    Austria in Eurovision

    Austria debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 and has won the competition twice with Udo Jurgens in Eurovision 1966 and the song Merci, Chérie   and  Conchita Wurst and her entry Rise Like a Phoenix in Eurovision 2014. In 2018 Austria selected Cesar Sampson via an internal selection and represented the country with his entry Nobody but you. The Austrian act achieved a honorable 3rd placing in the Grand Final by winning  the jury voting winning the jury voting.

    In 2019, the electropop singer-songwriter PÆNDA represented the coutry with her song “Limits” which unfortunately didn’t make it to the Grand final , as she finished 17th in the semi final.

    Vincent Bueno was selected internally to represent the country at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam witht the song “Alive” but as the event was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, missed the joy to perform in Rotterdam. However he will have the chance to complete his Eurovision journey with a new song "Amen" this year.
