Denmark: Saba wins Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with 'Sand' and is off to Eurovision 2024

Saba with the song 'Sand' won the Danish national final of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2024 and will be flying the flag in Malmo, Sweden.
Denmark determined once again their Eurovision hopeful through the national final format of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. The national final took place at DR's DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen.
The show was hosted by Stéphanie Surrugue και Sara Bro and saw a total of 8 contestants giving the battle for the ticket to Eurovision 2024.
The eight competing acts of the final performed in the following running order:
- Saba – “Sand”
- Stella – “Sign Here”
- ChuChu – “The Chase (Zoom Zoom)”
- Basim – “Johnny”
- RoseeLu – “Real Love”
- Ublu – “Planetary Hearts”
- Janus Wiberg – “I Need Your Love”
- Aura Dione – “Mirrorball of Hope”
The Result
The results were determined via a two round voting format. Throughout the week ahed of the national final an online voting was running in order to determine which three acts will advance to the next Superfinal round with only the top three advancing.
Once the competing part of the live show was over, the lines opened again for the public voting which decided the following three to move to the next round.
The lines opened again for the audience and along with the jury voting, with a 50% share each, the final result declared Saba and the song 'Sand' winning entry of the national final. Here are the analytical results of the night:

Anna Saba Lykke Oehlenschlæger born 11 August 1997, known simply as Saba, is a Danish singer, musical theatre actress and model.
Anna Saba Lykke Oehlenschlæger (born Saba) and her twin sister Andrea Lykke Oehlenschlæger (born Sara) were born on 11 August 1997 in Addis Abbaba, Ethiopia.They were adopted at eight months old and were raised in Ringkøbing, Denmark.During her youth, Oehlenschlæger played football at DBU Jutland.
After dropping out of high school, Oehlenschlæger and her sister moved to Copenhagen, starting off as a model and entrepreneur in teeth whitening products, while her sister pursued a singing and musical acting career.On 23 February 2023, Oehlenschlæger replaced her pregnant sister in the role of Dionne for the premiere of the musical Hair at the Østre Gasværk Teater, making her debut as a non-stunt stage actress.
SABA will compete with 'Sand' in the first half of the 2nd semi-final show on May 9 in Malmo Arena.
