Malta: Destiny signs global deal with Sony Music for Eurovision entry

  • Destiny Chukunyere has signed with the giant record label of the music industry, Sony Music, a global deal  for her Eurovision Song Contest 2021 song, "Je Me Casse".

    Malta's Destiny is riding the wave of success and is going universal with her Eurovision 2021 entry, "Je Me Casse". Following the release of the entry, Destiny's ESC entry has met massive acceptance and not long after it went public it topped the betting odds board becoming this year's favorite act to win the competition. 

    Speaking on her deal with the record label Sony Music Sweden the young talented act from Malta stated: 

    "I really can’t wait to develop this relationship further and I cannot wait to start working with Sony Music to reach new levels."

    Excited with her deal with the giant record label of the international music scene, she shared the new on her social media account experssing her thrill: 

    The Maltese entry has been composed and written by  Malin Christin, Amanuel Dermont, Nicklas Eklund and Pete Barringer. In less than four weeks, Je Me Casse was watched more than three million times on Youtube and streamed over 550,000 times on Spotify. The Maltese hopeful is set to perform in the last place (16th) of the first semi final on May 18, in Rotterdam. 

     

    A few words about Destiny

    Destiny is a Maltese singer from Birkirkara, Malta. At Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, she brought the trophy home representing the country with the entry “Not My Soul”. In 2017, she took part in series 11 of Britain’s Got Talent and finished 6th in the Semi-Final and thus was eliminated. In 2019, Chukunyere appeared on the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 stage in Tel Aviv, Israel as Michela Pace’s backing vocalist for her song, “Chameleon”. The song qualified for the final, finishing in 14th place with 107 points. In February this year she won the X-factor Malta talent show as a contestant in the Girls category, mentored by Ira Losco. 

    The 18 year old act won on February 9 the X-factor Malta talent show and earned the right to represent the country in the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Destiny’s entry “All Of My Love” is written by the Symphonix International team, Bernarda Brunovic, Borislav Milanov, Sebastian Arman, Dag Lundberg, Joacim Persson and Cesar Sampson. Cesar Sampson had represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 and finished third while  this is Borislav Milanov’s third entry at this year’s contest.

    However, the young talented act saw her Eurovision 2020 journey interrupted by the covid- 19 pandemic as the contest was cancelled. Now she will have a second chance to complete that journey in this year's edition.
