Thursday, 15 April 2021

  • The latest location revealed for the Eurovision 2021 postacards is the historic center of Delft.

With the preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam in full swing, the organisers are preparing among other things the 39 different postcards: the introductory films via which all performances are announced.

The historic city center of Delft has been included in the locations for the Eurovision 2021 postcards. Delft is a city and municipality in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. It is located between Rotterdam, to the southeast, and The Hague, to the northwest. Together with them, it is part of both RotterdamThe Hague metropolitan area and the Randstad.

So far a total of 11  places have been confirmed as this year's postcard locations. These are:

    • South Holland lighthouse (Westhoofd), Ouddorp
    • Evoluon, Eindhoven
    • Frisian Nannewiid
    • Beach at Vlissingen
    • Kloeveniersdoelen in Middelburg
    • Sparta Stadion In Rotterdam
    • Schiphol Airport
    • Nature reserve in Markermeer
    • PM terminal Maasvlakte II in Port of Rotterdam
    • Waalhaven, Nijmegen
    • Delft

Postcards are the small clips that are shown between the songs during the contest and helps us to know the performer of each country and showcase the local beauties of the host nation, but also to give the organizers the necessary time to prepare the stage for the next contestant.

For this year's contest a total of 400 locations across The Netherlands were submitted as potential locations for the Eurovision Song Contest postcards with the majority of them coming from South Holland and Drenthe.

In this year's postcard the artists will be visually presented in a tiny house in different locations around the Netherlands. With special digital techiques implemented the 39 acts don't need to be present during the filming of the postcard, which is rather convenient with all the ongoing covid-19 restrictions.

The 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will see 39 nations taking part in the competition in Rotterdam the live shows of which are set to take place on May 18,20 and 22.
