Eurovision 2021: First Rehearsal for Destiny from Malta
Sunday, 09 May 2021

  • Malta's Destiny closes the 2nd day of rehearsals in Rottedam Ahoy with the first rehearsal of her entry "Je Me Casse".

The talented young act, has already brought home a trophy of a Eurovision event, representing the country with the entry “Not My Soul” at Junior Eurovision 2015. The 18 year old act won last year the X-factor Malta talent show and earned the right to represent the country at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. Following last year's cancellation was called back to continue her Eurovision journey in 2021. The Maltese entry has been composed and written by  Malin Christin, Amanuel Dermont, Nicklas Eklund and Pete Barringer, while the staging is work of Sasha Jean Baptiste.

Having signed with the giant record label of the music industry, Sony Music, a global deal  for her Eurovision Song Contest 2021 song, "Je Me Casse" , Destiny is at the moment the bookies' favorite to win the contest.

    The Staging

Destiny is  joined on stage by five dancers all wearing bright pink dance costumes. They all stand on an elevated platform with a ballet bar. The shots are on going  quite close to Destiny which is static an makes various hand movez similar to those of the video clip.

Although her vocals aref flawless something on how she delivers the whole thing dosen't help spotlight the outstanding parts of the song, while herself seems uncomfortable on stage. Of course these are issues that can be worked out through the next runs. She is after all 18 years old and need her time to adjust to the Ahoy's scenery.
