Eurovision 2021: First rehearsal for Gjon's Tears from Switzerland

  • Second last for today's rehearsal was Gjon's Tears from Switzerland who took the stage to rehearse the performance of 'Tout l'univers'.

    Gjom's Tears is one of the returning acts of the class of 2020 when he was internally selected to represent Switzerland with the song “Répondez-moi”.   This year's entry came out of a total of 13 songs which  were prepared within the framework of a song camp with Gjon's Tears adding in his vocals at each track. Then the 13 songs were assessed by a 100 member audience panel and a jury of international experts.

    With Gjon's Tear topping or scoring high in several fan polls, among which he won the annual INFE poll 2021, he is in the top 3 favorites to win the contest accroding to bookies' predictions. 

     

    The Staging

    Gjon appears alone on a white construction while the background is black with gray lights. His choreography is totally diferrent from the motion we saw in the official music video hos song. On the bridge  close up shots to his facewhile the choreography continues and the lights intensify in the last refrain.

    Gjon's vocals are no surprise as he delivers the song without any issues showing confident. However, something was missing for an act in the top 3 favorites with the aucdience in the press center reacting in a rather moderate way for a favorite to win.
