Eurovision 2021: First Rehearsal for Stefania from Greece
-
Today's Fourth rehearsal saw Stefania from Greece taking the stage to rehearse her entry "Last Dance".
She is the younger contestant from the class of Eurovision 2021 and took her to year's to reach Rotterdam Ahoy's stage even thouhg in daily terms it's close to her home. The Greek-Dutch act, Stefania is one more returning act from last year's cancelled contest.
Last year she was set to perform her song 'Superg!rl' but it this year's where we see her flying on the stage performing her entry 'Last Dance'.The creative team behind the song sees Dimitris Kontopoulos, Arcade, Sharon Vaughn on the composition team, Fokas Evangelinos as the director for the song's staging , while Ilias Kokotos completes the Greek act's supportive team.
Can she and her four dancers Nikos Koukakis, Markos Giakoumoglou , Kostas Pavlopoulos and Giorgos Papadopoulos bring Greece back to its glory days of the successive top 10 placings?
The Staging
Stefania wears a purple colored glittered outfit , with high boots and gloves, bringing visually the the spirit of 80s, on stage. The background colours are too purple. Stefania begins to deliver her song starts alone on stage with the surrounding lighting scaled down . Then the four dancers join her behind, but the viewers cannot see their bodies or their faces , only their suits which make different moves around her. Amazing visuals and elevated material by Fokas Evagelino which keeps the viewers captivated without losing a minute off the screen.
The most impressive part however follows with Stefania apprearing like walking on air while in the background we see an urban landscape, with apartment buildings and skyscrapers, which move up and down. She seems to be climbing an invisible ladder. As she ascends, she falls back and floats in the air with one of the dancers catching her, but without the viewers being able to see all this.,
In the chorus we see Stefania standing, on an invisible pedestal again, while to her left and right are the dancers, from which we can see only their clothes dancing.
Vocally she delivers the song close to the what we've heard so far. I really impressive performance which lets see how far up can boost the Greek hopeful.
