Eurovision 2021: Which entries are the bookies' favorites so far
-
Like every year the bookies's predictions for which country will win the Eurovision trophy is one of the side factors on the road towards each contest.
After Armenia's withdrawal and Belarus' disqualification from this year's contest the puzzle of competing countries has been finalized with a total of 39 nations to take part in the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam.
With all the songs out the betting odds are refelcting a temporary but kind of clear picture of who the favorites for this year's contest. Lets go an see which countries have an early lead on the betting odds board so far:
The top 5 favorites for victory
While Switzerland with Gjon's Tears' "Tout I'univers" was in the lead since the day of the release, Destiny from Malta with her “Je Me Casse“ became bookies new favorite to win the competition. Although the two acts are very close to each other with Malta having a narrow lead ( 3,75 - 5,70) from second Switzerland ( 4 - 6,60) it is quite remarkable for the small Meediterranean state island.
However the two of them are feeling Barbara Pravi's breath which has closed the gap for France and is the bookies' third favorite to win the contest with her melanholic ballad “Voilà” ( 7- 8,5).
In fourth place Victoria from Bulgaria is not quiting the fight as she is receiving an increased number of bets that allowed her to pass Måneskin from Italy which close the top 5 places on the betting odds board.
Places 6 to 10
In the 6th place we find Tusse from Sweden and his song 'Voices" which is showing a steady perfromance in bets, with a mixture of trends. Close behind follow Daði & Gagnamagnið from Iceland which gained recently a slight lead from Lithuania's hopeful the group The Roop in 8th place. All three of them are more close to the top 5 favorites , as the gap after the 8th placing starts to open up.
The top 10 closes with Elena Tsagrinou's "El Diablo" for Cyprus gaining a top 10 position in the betting odds followed by the Finnish group Blind Channel.

Which entries follow the top 10
Close to the top 10 and with a steady performance in bets is Senhit from San Marino who is placed 11th at the moment on the betting odds board followd by Norway's TIX with his "Fallen Angel" in 12th place. Manizha from Russia and Stefania from Greece follow in the 13th and 14th place repsectively, gaining 2-3 positions from the day the songs were released, while Natalia Gordienko is close behind in thr 15th place. All five countries in places 11- 15 are close with slight differences in their betting performances.
The countries placed from 16 to 20th place are behind with the betting odds falling further down marking a wider gap from the ones above. You can see below all places from 11-20 :

Below you can check out all the rest placings on the betting odds board from 21-39:

The overall impression
Until all songs were out the board of betting odds saw up and downs for several countries and significant changes. With less than two months to go for the contest and with the pre parties cancelled this year we won't have many occassions in which the acts will perform live their songs. Thus major changes in the placings are not expected until rehearsals kick off and we start having a more clear impression on the staging of the 39 performances. Rehearsals have been always a major factor of influence for the betting odds, not only for the favorites to win, but for semi final qualifiers and the overall placings.
But until we reach that turning point on the road to the live shows Destiny from Malta is the bookie's queen for victory!
