About Civita di Bagnoregio
Civita di Bagnoregio is a town in the Province of Viterbo in central Italy in the Region of Lazio, a suburb of the comune of Bagnoregio. It is about 120 kilometres (75 mi) north of Rome. The only access is a footbridge from the nearby town, with a toll introduced in 2013.Due to the toll, communal taxes were abolished in Civita and nearby Bagnoregio. Due to its unstable foundation that often erodes, Civita is famously known as ‘the dying city’.
The town was founded by the Etruscan civilisation over 2,500 years in the Province of Viterbo of central Italy. The Etruscans emerged around 900 BC during the Villanovan culture period in the Iron Age, and reached its peak territorially around 750 BC during the foundational period of the Roman Kingdom.
In last year's Eurovision postcards the artists were visually presented in a tiny house in different locations around the Netherlands. With special digital techiques implemented the 39 acts didn't need to be present during the filming of the postcard, which is rather convenient with all the ongoing covid-19 restrictions.
The 66th edition of the contest is set to take place on May 10,12 and 14 at the Pala Olimpico in Turin, Italy.
