Eurovision 2023: BBC's delegation onsite in Liverpool

A delegation of BBC has visited the next Eurovision host city, Liverpool, in order to progress Eurovision 2023 plans.
A BBC delegation, with Director General of the BBC Tim Davie leading along with Director of Unscripted for the BBC Kate Phillips, visited Liverpool on October 14 in order to put plans in motion for the next Eurovision Song Contest.
They delegation had meeting with the team that was in charge of Liverpool's bidding proposal, with local authorities such as the Mayor of Liverpool Joanne Anderson and Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram, at the M&S Bank Arena where Eurovision 2023 will be taking place.
While the delegation didn't reveal much of the plans on the table for the next contest they referred to a city coming alive and a festival atmpsphere as the overall objective of their plans. In addition Tim Davie talking on the local BBC radio outlined the reasons Liverpool eventually won the host city bidding race with the the suitable venue, the commitment of the city, the links to Ukraine, and Liverpool’s experience in hosting big events among the ticked boxes by the city's candidacy.
Also Davie remined everyone that the contest is taking place in the UK on behalf of Ukraine and for that reason they are working together in order to showcase Ukraine's culture and music in the forthcoming contest.
Eurovision 2023
The 67th edition is set to take place in Liverpool at the M&S Bank Arena on May 9, 11 and 13, 2023.

The city is closely associated with the arts, especially music; the popularity of the Beatles, widely regarded as the most influential band of all time. M&S Bank Arena, is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the city centre of Liverpool, England. The venue hosts live music, comedy performances and sporting events, and forms part of Liverpool event campus ACC Liverpool – an interconnected arena, exhibition and convention centre.
Opened in 2008 the 11,000-seat arena hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards the same year and since then has held host to world-renowned acts such as Andrea Bocelli, Beyoncé, Elton John, Kanye West, Kasabian, The Killers, Lady Gaga, Oasis, Pink, Rihanna, UB40.
