Eurovision 2024 Rehearsals Day 4: Second set of Semi-final 2 countries run their first rehearsals

Eurovision 2024 rehearsals progress in Malmo Arena to Day 4 with the second set of Semi-Final 2 countries taking the stage to run their first technical rehearsals.
Good morning Europe, this is Malmo calling! Rehearsal continue to unfold in Malmo Arena and it's time for the rest semi-final 2 countries to take to the stage and rehearse their entries for the first time.
Eurovision rehearsals are closed to all but a number of photographers and TikTokers with special access to both the arena and the Eurovision Reddit account.
Day 4 in Malmo Arena will see the rest eight Semi-final Two countries are taking the stage to make their first rehearsal and adjust the technical parameters to their performance. Namely the eight countries to rerhearse today are: Latvia, San Marino, Georgia, Belgium, Estonia, Israel, Norway, The Netherlands
Here is how the rehearsal program will unwind on Day 4 in Malmo Arena:
First Rehearsal Impressions
Latvia - Dons (Hollow)

Day 4 rehearsal open with the Latvian delegate Dons bringing on stage his atmosperical power ballad song 'Hollow'. Dons secured his place in the Eurovision 20244 class after winning the Latvian national final of Supernova.
Dons is located on stage in a big ring shaped prop lighted up in it's inner surface making the whole performance focused on the Latvian act. A wide use of blue spotlights and white lighting fits perfectly the occasion conveying to the audience the mood of the song.
Dons is wearing, royal blue sleeveless pantsuit resembling to Iron Man's outfit style. Vocally we're sure he 'll deliver amazingly judging from his preparty performances.

A few words for Dons
Artūrs Šingirejs (born 10 April 1984), better known as Dons, is a Latvian singer and songwriter. He is one of the most popular singers in Latvia, having won the Latvian Music Recording Awards' Top Radio Hit award eight times for most played song.
He has released eight solo albums and has won numerous awards including Latvijas Radio's Muzikālās Banka Song of the Year five times. At the Latvian Music Recording Awards, he has won Best Pop Album twice from five nominations for Varanasi (2014) and Tūrists (2020). He has won Best Rock Album once from two nominations with Lelle (2008) and has been nominated once for Best Pop-Rock Album with Signāls (2013).
Previously, he attempted to represent Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest twice with the songs "My Religion is Freedom" (2010) and "Pēdējā Vēstule" (2014), finishing in second both times in the Latvian national finals.
Born in Saldus, Latvia, Dons began his career in the Latvian reality show Talantu Fabrika (lit. 'Talent Factory') in 2003. He released a duet album, Viens Otram (2004), with fellow contestant Lily (real name Linda Kalniņa, m. 2009; div. 2013). His first solo album Lights On (2006) was mostly in English. He found success releasing his next seven albums in Latvian: Lelle (2008), Signāls (2013), Varanasi (2014), Sibīrija (2015), Tepat (2016), Namiņš. Kaste. Vārdi (2018), and Tūrists (2020). In 2021, he signed with Universal Music and will release his first album Laiks on the label in August 2024.
San Marino - Megara (11:11)

Second act for rehearsal today are the Sammarinese representative, Megara, singing the angelic symbol number '11:11'.
The group brings on stage their rock song dressed pretty much with the same pink and black outfits we saw in the Sammarinese national final 'Una Voce per San Marino' with the addition of some zerbra stripes. Megara’s two dancers are waering fur coats which as the song progresses they take off to reveal skeleton bodysuits and fur boots.
Their performance is dynamic and full energy even from the photo images. Wide use of lighting and animation projections on the backdrop along with the pyro effects create an explosive peroformance. What's the time?? Well we'll have to check that huge vintage clock on the backdrop that features their staging, but we're sure we've passed 11:11.

A few words for MEGARA
Megara (Spanish pronunciation:) is a Spanish rock band formed in Madrid in 2015, currently consisting of Kenzy Loevett, Vitti Crocutta, Tio Rober Bueno, and Raphaela Tache.
Megara was formed in Madrid in 2015 by guitarist Rober and vocalist Kenzy.That same year, the band released their debut EP Muérase quien pueda. In 2016, they released Siete, their first studio album. After the publication of their second studio album Aquí estamos todos locos in 2018, the band began rising in popularity, making their debut appearances at Download Festival and Resurrection Fest in 2019.
In 2023, the band participated in Benidorm Fest 2023, the Spanish preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Arcadia". They finished fourth in the first semi-final on 31 January 2023, qualifying for the final, where they finished in fourth overall.That same year, they announced that they would be the supporting act on the Spanish leg of Babymetal's World Tour
Georgia - Nutsa Buzaladze (Firefighter)

Third rehearsal for the day is held by the Georgian representative, Nutsa Buzaladze . After Tali's 'Fighter' in the first semi here comes Nutsa with her own 'Firefighter' song, we expect the some pyro effect to dominate the stage.
The Georgian delegate is dressed in a golden mini-dress joined by four backing dancers in total black wearing sleeveless shirts and a long black kilts.
Nutsa starts sings on a raised plinth, with the red colors dominating the stage along with a red smoky scenery. The camera captures the dynamic and energetic choreography on stage which elevates the performance along with Nutsa's powerful vocals she has already showcased in many preparty occasions.
The overall impression is really captivating and the tv viewrers will think twice to take their eyes off screen the semi-final night.

Belgium - Mustii (Before the party's over)

Just before the lunch break Mustii from Belgium takes the stage to rehearse his entry 'Before the party's over'. Mustii was internally selected to represent Belgium and was one of the first artists confirmed for this year's Eurovision.
On stage Mustii is wearing an open white shirt with a see through top with gems pinned on it making it shiny with the staging light. The Belgian act delivers his song within a circle of microphones while the scenery is dominated by a smoke and cloudy effects on the LED screens.
With an intensed body language Mustii is here to treat this year's audience with another captivating performance.

A few words for Mustii
Thomas Michel Mustin (born 21 November 1990), also known by his stage name Mustii , is a Belgian actor and singer. As part of his career he has released two albums 21st Century Boy and It's Happening Now, which have both peaked inside the top ten of the Belgian Albums Charts. He is also known for being a judgeon Drag Race Belgique.
Mustin finished his studies in the theater at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (Louvain-la-Neuve) in 2012 and began to shoot for a French television series named À tort ou à raison, directed by Alain Brunard.He also performed on stage as Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, directed by Yves Beaunesne.
In early 2015, he took part in the revival of the show L'Auberge du Cheval-Blanc, directed by Dominique Serron at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi and the Royal Opera of Wallonia while in in 2014, Mustin signed a contract with Kid Noize's label, Black Gizah Record. His first single, "The Golden Age", was quickly broadcast on many Belgian radio stations.
In December 2016, he was nominated six times at the D6bels Music Awards in the following categories: Male Solo Artist, Concert, Pure FM Artist/Group, Revelation, Music Video, and Songwriter. He leaves with the trophy for Revelation of the Year.[citation needed] On February 2, 2019, he received the Magritte Award for Most Promising Actor for the film The Royal Exchange.
Estonia - 5MIINUST x Puuluup [ (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi]

It's time for the Estonian delegates to take the stage with 5MIINUST x Puuluup to rehearse their entry (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi. 5MIINUST x Puuluup secured their spot in the 68th Eurovision after winning the Estonian natioanal selection of Eesti Laul 2024.
As many times we've tried to memorize that song title ..... in vain! This song has the longest single-language title in Eurovision history and means in English: ‘we (really) don’t know anything about (these) drugs’. However the performance is something that stays in your mind!
The pop/hiphop group appears on stage all in black suits with different kind of sleeves each one. Along with the beat ongoing motion on stage which makes it a must dance song in the Euroclub! The whole staging seems fun and invites you to join the party!

A few words for 5miinust x Puuluup
5miinust is an Estonian hip hop group formed in Võsu in 2015. The members of the group are Kristjan Jakobson (pseudonym "Estoni Kohver"or simply "Kohver"), Mihkel Tamm ("Päevakoer"), Karl Kivastik ("Põhja-Korea"or simply "Korea"),and Priit Tomson ("Lancelot").They were originally joined by a fifth member, Pavel Botšarov ("Venelane"), who left the group in 2023, starting a solo career under the pseudonym Gameboy Tetris.
Founded in Võsu in Lääne-Viru County, 5miinust rose to prominence in 2018, the year in which both studio albums "Aasta plaat" and "Rämmar", released in 2016 and 2017 respectively through Legendaarne Records, charted in the top twenty of the best-selling albums chart nationally,making them two of the 18 most successful albums in 2018. The following year they recorded the single "Aluspükse" with Nublu, which spent six consecutive weeks at the top of the Eesti Tipp-40,becoming the 3rd best-selling song in Estonia for 2019.
Puuluup are an Estonian nu-folk duo that was established in 2014 by Ramo Teder (a.k.a. Pastacas) and Marko Veisson. In 2018 they released their album Süüta mu lumi while three years later the album Viimane suusataja was out.
Israel - Eden Golan (Hurricane)
Up next on stage is Eden Golan from Israel forher first rehearsal of 'Hurricane'. Eden achieved to reach the Eurovision stage after winning the Israeli talent show HaKokhav HaBa (‘The Next Star’).
Eden appears on stage wearing a white flowing dress while her three male ans two female backing dancers are dressed in off white and grey colored costumes.
The performance unwind around a circular prop similat to that of Latvia's but much bigger and this one is litup with neon lights and on each side has integrated ladders in order for the dancers get hold of. The choreography unfolds around and on the circular construction while the surrounding colors are mostly dark interrupted by white spotlighting adjusted to the 'Hurricane' element.
If you watched Eden's victorious participation in the 'Next star' show you can expect nothing else than a wide vocal range that will elevate the song on stage.

A few words for Eden Golan
Eden Golan born 5 October 2003, is a Russian-Israeli singer. She began her career by taking part in the Russian selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, and afterwards in the Russian television competition The Voice Kids.
Golan was born in Kfar Saba, Israel. When she was 6 years old, she and her parents moved to Moscow for permanent residence due to her father's work, where she spent 12 years. Both her parents were born in the Soviet Union to families of Jewish heritage.
In 2015, Golan took part in the Russian selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015. She finished fifth in the final, scoring 22 points, eight fewer than the eventual winner Mikhail Smirnov. In 2016, she performed at the competition New Wave in Crimea, including performing her song "Howl at the Moon" in a duet with Nyusha. In 2018, Golan was a finalist in the fifth season of the show The Voice Kids, representing Pelageya's team. She collaborated with Yinon Yahel. After her return to Israel, in 2022, Golan participated in the season 2 finale of Ro'im et Hakol and was eliminated in the first round.
Norway - Gåte (Ulveham)

Second last to rehearse today are Norway's hopefuls the rock/folk Norwegian band of Gåte. They are bringing in Malmothe song, Ulveham a folk tale about a maiden with an evil stepmother who is banished to the woods, transformed into a wolf and ordered to kill her brother.
Gåte's performance is similar to that of the national final in dark colors adjusted to the story behind the song. A gothic scenery unfolds on stage with rocks and trees projected on the LED screen behind and spooky graphics.
Gunnhild the leading vocalist is dressed in dark green wide trousers matched with a same color top and a leafy decoration over her shoulder.

A few words for Gåte
Gåte is a band from Trøndelag, Norway playing Norwegian folk music bred with metal and electronica. Their style has been referred to as progressive folk-rock. The band was put together by Sveinung Sundli (violin, keyboards) in 2000 and originally consisted of his younger sister Gunnhild Sundli (vocals), Gjermund Landrø (bass, backing vocals), Martin Langlie (drums) and Magnus Robot Børmark (guitar, keyboards). Langlie was replaced by Kenneth Kapstad in 2004.
The Netherlands - Joost Klein (Europapa)

Last but not least for Day 4 of rehearsal is the Dutch entrant Joost Klein with is song 'Europapa' ready not to put us on a non-stop eurodance motion mode.
Joost wears his blue suit with big shoulder pads while his accompanied by two backing dancers in white tracksuits and of course by the keyboard player dressed as a fluffy blue and yellow bird, a combination of colors reminding of the European Union's flag but also the hosting country's colors.
This is such a fun uplifitng song of high energy that you cannot deny joining the party. We can't imagine what the audience will be doing in the arena during the show dancing to this bop!

A few words for Klein Joost
Joost Klein, born 10 November 1997), known mononymously as Joost, is a Dutch musician, rapper, singer and former YouTuber. Mainly a hip hop artist, his songs and performances often include influences of electronic music, such as drum and bass, hardstyle and gabber.He has released eight studio albums, two of which reached the top ten of the Dutch Album Top 100. He has amassed four chart entries on the Dutch Top 40, and is best known for "Scandinavian Boy", "Wachtmuziek" and "Friesenjung".
The fourth day of rehearsals is over here in Malmo Arena and with the second run rehearsals for the semifinalists coming up and the Big-5 and host nation joiming in for their first rehearsal.
