Finland: Teflon Brothers & Pandora's UMK 2021 entry

  • The second competing entry of the Finnish ESC 2021 national final is out, as Teflon Brothers & Pandora release their UMK 2021 song "I love you"

    One more  UMK 2021 comepting act out of a total of seven reveals its competing song! It was time for the the Teflon Brothers and Pandora to release their song, "I love you"  via which they want to reach the Eurovision Stage in Rotterdam next May representing Finland. 

    I Love You was born in collaboration with Teflon Brothers, Pandora, Axel Ehnström and Jaakko “ JS16 ” Salovaara . Ehnström himself represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 under the artist name Paradise Oskar , in addition to which he has written music for Abreu , Mikael Gabriel and the Saint who is also influential in Teflon. Salovaara is also known internationally as a producer and artist of electronic music, who was influential in the 90s as a producer of Bomfunk MC's and Darude , among others .

    The catchy I Love You addresses the difficulty of expressing emotions and encourages being more open and bold. The song is sung in both Finnish and English. Pandora says about their UMK 2021 candidate song: 

    "With our song, we want to bring people together for joy, joy and love and a message that love does not look at language skills or external aspects. It is about the power of nonverbal interaction"

     

    A few words for Teflon Borthers and Pandora

    The Teflon Brothers trio, which consists of Saints , Voli and Heikki Kuula, is known for, for example, Maradona (summer '86) , Pämppää ja Lähiöunelmii . Teflon Brothers is one of the most streamed Finnish artists. 

    The Swedish part of the collaboration Pandora has a direct Eurodance legend status, is especially familiar with her 1995 song Don't You Know . Finland also has a strong place in the heart of Pandora, who has had a long international career: she has a Finnish spouse and lives in Finland half of his time. Pandora considers her UMK participation to be an indication of how much the support received from Finns over the years means to her.

    All UMK   entries are going public on digital platforms, YLE’s streaming service, Youtube and Spotify on daily basis from 14-22 January.

    The national final will take place on February 20,  2021 and the final outcome will be determined by public and jury voting. The final will be held at Tampere Mediapolis' TV studios, and will be aired live on Yle TV1 and Yle Areena.
