Sunday, 01 March 2020

  • Just a while ago, as expected , the Greek National broadcaster, ERT, released through the special Eurovision tv show “Antistrofi Metrisi” (Countdown) the Eurovision 2020 Greek entry, «Superg!rl», that Stefania will be performing next May in Rotterdam.

Earlier in the first week of February ERT announced Stefania Liberakakis as the internally selected act to represent the country in the 65th Eurovision Song Contest singing the entry entitled Superg!rl. Today the boradcaster released the song and the offcial music video.

Superg!rl is an contemporary uptempo pop song with ethnic elements urging the young people to believe in themselves and go after their dreams. The song is inspired by Stefania’s daily life and th strenght she finds to combine her school obligations and her love for music. Composers of the song are Dimitris Kontopoulos and Arcade while the team of its lyricists includes Dimitris KontopoulosArcade and Sharon Vaughn .

    Dimitris Kontopoulos says:

Stefania has a stong voice and a beautiful tone. To be honest it wasn’t easy to fina the suitable song for Stefania, since we wanted it to fit her age and her personality, but i believe we made it. It’s my first time i’m collaborating with Arcade for the Eurovision Song Contest, a very talented team of conposers and producers and it it always an honor to work with Sharon Vaughn, a great lyricist with international hits.

The director of Suoergirl’s music video Kostas Karidis said about the video clip:

We created a story with surrealistic elements. We follow a yound girl that finds the strength to embrace her uniqueness in a society that confronts her as a stranger. It’s an exploration journey of her strenght within her. The music video comes to fill out the song which is dynamic and refreshing. All the team is made up by professionals , from which each one gave 100% in his sector in order the result to be perfect. Also we had an excellent cooperation with Stefania, who surprised us with her hard work and acting skills.

Fokas Evagellinos will be responsible for the Stefania’s staging in Rotterdam Ahoy.
