Greece: Stafania's Eurovision 2021 entry

  • The Greek Eurovision 2021 entry, Last Dance, which Stefania will be performing at Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam next May will be released on March 10. 

    During ERT's evenign news Greece Eurovision 2021 hopeful , Stefania , revealed that her competing song "Last Dance" will go public on March 10

    Stefania's creative team sees  Dimitris Kontopoulos, Arcade, Sharon Vaughn on the composition team, Fokas Evangelinos as the director for the song's staging , while Ilias Kokotos completes the Greek act's supportive team. Stefania will appear on Rotterdam Ahoy's stage in May accompanied by four dancers whilst a female backing vocalist fills the number of people on stage. 

    The following days Stefania will be shooting the official music video of her ESC 2021 entry "Last Dance". While the final version of the song is reveiving is last touches, the Greek Hopeful will be making the shoooting of the music video under the guidance of Kostas Karydis, who was the director also of Stefania's last year's ESC entry Superg!rl. 

    Like each participating country according to EBU's instructions for this year's edition adjusted to the covid-19 circumstances, the Greek delegation will to shoot also the on-tape live performance of the song and hand it in by the end of March. 

     

    Greece in Eurovision

    Greece made its first participation in the contest  in 1974 with Marinela. Since then the country has won one time the competition, in 2005 with Helena Paparizou and her entry  My number one. Since 2004 and up to 2013 the country was one of the most successful countires in the contest, having achieved 9 times a top ten placing. In 2016 it experienced its first non qualifying results since the semi final were introduced, with Argo in Stockholm.

    In 2019 ERT opted for an internal selection and selected Katerina Duska to represent the country with her entry Better Love, which eventually finished 21st in Tel Aviv.

    Last year Stefania was internally selected to represent Greece in Eurovision 2020 with her song 'Supergi!rl'. Unfortunately the contest was cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic depriving the the young talented act from perform in Rotterdam. ERT has revealed that it will be continuing with Stefania in next year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, giving to the young talented act the chance to complete her Eurovision journey in Rotterdam.
