Greece: Stefania films her live on tape performance of "Last Dance" in Sofia
-
The Greek Eurovision 2021 hopeful, Stefania, has completed filming her live on tape performance of "Last Dance" in Sofia, Bulgaria.
It has been a quite busy weekend for Stefania as the Greek ESC representative flew over to Sofia along with almost the whole delegation in order to film the live on tape peformance of her entry "Last Dance".
With the first reactions to "Last Dance" being a reason for the Greek delegation to be optimistic about this year's particiaption and bringing back Greece to its top 10 golden years, Stefania filmed the necessary this year live on tape performance of her entry under always the guidance of her staging director Fokas Evagelinos.
Of course on stage Stefania has beside her all of her four experienced dancers Markos Giakoumoglou , Nikos Koukakis, Kostas Pavlopoulos and Giorgos Papadopoulos , along with Victoria Chalkiti on the backing vocals. The live on tape performance includes elements from the planned performance in Rotterdam but in general terms it's more simplified.
Stefania had with her a big part of the Greek Delegation. Namely the Head of Delegation, Sofia Dranidou, was present while the song's composer , Dimitris Kontopoulos and general project manager Ilias Kokotos provided their support to Stefania's important day. Next to the Greek hopeful were also her mother, her manager Spiros Chalos and the people responsible for her styling.
Judging from Stefania's post on her instagram account, the whole team seems satified with the on tape result and is ready for Rotterdam.
The live on tape performance
According to EBU's plans for this year's contest, the 40 countries should make a pre recorded live on-tape performance of their entries that they must submit by late March in order to guarantee their participation in case the delegation is unable to travel to Rotterdam due to restrictions or a quarantine in their countries.
Each country has only three attempts over an hour given for the filming of the performance which is overseen by the EBU. The delegation can choose on of the three shootings filmed as the country's back up performance.
All the material fillmed from all cameras along with audio recordings from mics, are sent instantly to the EBU so that they cannot be altered in anyway. The performing act is filmed exactly as if the performance was live without any interruptions or breaks. However EBU has outlined that the live on tape performance can differ from the actual live performance planned for Rotterdam.
Stefania will be performing "Last Dance" in Rotterdam and is set to compete in the first half of the second semi final show on May 20, 2021.
