Greece: Stefania sheds some light on her Eurovision 2021 staging of "Last Dance'
-
The Greek Eurovision 2021 hopeful, Stefania, talking to local media has shed some light on the staging of her ESC entry "Last Dance".
Following the release of her Eurovision 2021 entry, "Last Dance", Stefania has given us a small idea of what to expect from her performance on Rotterdam Ahoy's stage next May.
During an interview with Greek journalist, Giannis Poulopoulos, on Open tv channel's morning show "Eftixite" (Be Happy), Stefania explained what the plans for her staging are:
"The staging will have 80s vibes. You will see the girl who becomes a woman. We will be six people on stage. Me, four male dancers, and one female as backing vocalist. There are things we would have used in Supergirl as well. The choreography has something from the Video Clip."
Stefania went on adding in which phase are her preparations, mentioning that at the moment they are dealing with the backup performance that will be used in case she won't be able to be present at the contest due to COVID. She goes on saying:
"Now we are working on the live on-tape video which is a little simpler than what you will see in May. My dress and make-up will not be related to the ’80s. Vrettos Vrettakos has designed something very nice."
As we have posted previously, Fokas Evangelinos has already chosen the four dancers that will accompany Stefania on stage presenting us an impressive performance of the song. To secure such result Fokas has picked some of the most skilled dancers which have their own experience on the ESC stage.Nikos Koukakis, Markos Giakoumoglou , Kostas Pavlopoulos and Giorgos Papadopoulos are Stefania's backing dancers that we will see on stage. Markos Giakoumoglou was on Demy's team in Eurovision 2017 while Giorgos Papadopoulos was one of the dancers for Greece in 2009 with Sakis Rouvas and in 2012 with Eleftheria Eleftheriou. Kostas Pavlopoulos was in Serhat's team for Eurovision 2019 whilst Nikos Koukakis was set to be withStefania's performance of SUPERG!RL last year.

The Creative Team
The creative team behind the song sees Dimitris Kontopoulos, Arcade, Sharon Vaughn on the composition team, Fokas Evangelinos as the director for the song's staging , while Ilias Kokotos completes the Greek act's supportive team. Greece in Eurovision
Greece made its first participation in the contest in 1974 with Marinela. Since then the country has won one time the competition, in 2005 with Helena Paparizou and her entry My number one. Since 2004 and up to 2013 the country was one of the most successful countires in the contest, having achieved 9 times a top ten placing. In 2016 it experienced its first non qualifying results since the semi final were introduced, with Argo in Stockholm.
In 2019 ERT opted for an internal selection and selected Katerina Duska to represent the country with her entry Better Love, which eventually finished 21st in Tel Aviv.
Last year Stefania was internally selected to represent Greece in Eurovision 2020 with her song 'Supergi!rl'. Unfortunately the contest was cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic depriving the young talented act from her journey to Rotterdam.
