Iceland: Eurovision 2022 acts Sigga, Beta & Elín switch to the brand

  • Iceland's Eurovision 2022 hopefuls, the trio Sigga, Beta and Elín , have decided to appear in Turin under the new name 'Systur'.  

    The female trio, Sigga, Beta and Elín won the Icelandic national selection of Söngvakeppnin 2022 with the song "Með Hækkandi Sól" and secured their spot in the 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. 

    Following their national final victory the trio has decided to continue with their appearance in the compeition in Turin under the name 'Systur' which means 'Sisters' in Icelandic. The artistic trio is know in the past under the brands of “Systur” or “Sísý Ey” but opted eventually for the first one. 

    The three sisters will compete in the second half of second semi final in Turin on May 12, 2022 singing "Með Hækkandi Sól".

     

    A few words for Sigga, Beta & Elín 

    Sigga, Beta & Elín (formerly Sísý Ey ) is an Icelandic musical group formed in 2011 by the sisters SigríðurElísabet and Elín Eyþórsdóttir.

    Born into a family of musicians, the sisters began singing and playing since childhood. In 2011 they formed the trio Sísý Ey, which they joined their respective careers as soloists.Their song for Eurovision 2022 Með hækkandi sól (With the raising sun) has been penned by Lovísa Elísabet Sigrúnardóttir.
