Iceland: Söngvakeppnin 2023 Second Semi-final results; Grand final line-up completed

  • The last spots of the finals in the Icelandic national selection for Eurovision 2023 were determined this evening with the second semi-final of Söngvakeppnin 2023.

    The second semi-final show Söngvakeppnin 2023 took place this evening determining the last two finalist of Iceland's national selection while an additional fifth act from the nom-qualifiers was chosen by the jury as a wildcard for the finals. 

    Hosts of the night are the musician Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson, tv presenter Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir plus radio producer and music director of RÚV's Channel 2 Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson.

    Namely the acts that competed in tonight's second semi-final round were: 

    1. Úlfar – Betri maður

    2. Kristín Sesselja – Óbyggðir

    3. Langi Seli og Skuggarnir – OK

    4. Silja Rós & Kjalar – Ég styð þína braut

    5. Sigga Ózk – Gleyma þér og dansa 

    Here is how the reasults came out once all jury and public votes were counted:

    In addition Celebs with “Dómsdagsdans” was the jury's wildcard for the finals and will be the fifth finalist of the Icelanding selection. 

    Thus the final line-up of the Söngvakeppnin 2023 has been completed and is formed by the following finalists: 

    In both semi-finals competing entries must be performed in Icelandic but in the Grand- Final on March 4, 2023 the song can be in any language the contestants wishes.
