Iceland: Söngvakeppnin 2024 Second Semi-final results

The second semi-final of the Icelandic national selection for Eurovision 2024 took place this evening determining the two more finalists of Söngvakeppnin 2024.
For one more year Iceland is selecting their Eurovision hopeful through the selection formula of Söngvakeppnin 2024. However it's a year of ongoing discussions in Iceland around their Eurovision participation due to the conflict between Israel and Palaistine in Gaza.
Following last week's 1st semi-final the second semi-fina was held in Truenorth Studio, in the capital city of Reykjavik. Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir, Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson and Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson is the trio hosting this year's show.
The second set of five acts competed in the semi-final performing their entries in Icelandic:
1. Sigga Ózk – Um allan alheiminn / Into the Atmosphere
2. Heiðrún Anna –Þjakaður af ást
3. Bashar Murad – Vestrið villt / Wild West
4. MAIAA – Fljúga burt
5. Hera Björk – Við förum hærra / Scared of Heights
The result
Once the competing part was over the lines opened in order to determine which two acts will go through to the final. According to the results the two acts that qualified are:
- Hera Björk – Við förum hærra / Scared of Heights
- Bashar Murad – Vestrið villt / Wild West
In addition, an extra qualifier from the acts that didn't make it to the finals through the semis, was selected by the jury as a wildcard to advance to the final. The jury selected
- Sigga Ózk – Um allan alheiminn / Into the Atmosphere
On March 2 the Grand final of Söngvakeppnin 2024 will close the Icelandic national selection determining which act out of six contestants will fly the flag at Eurovision 2024.
