Iceland: Tonight the final of Songvakeppnin 2020

  • Iceland will be holding tonight the final show of its Eurovision 2020 national selection, Songvakeppnin 2020, in order to determine who will represent the country in Rotterdam next May .

    After two semi final rounds that saw two acts qualify from each semi final and one wildcard added, today’s final show will see 5 competing entries battle for the golden ticket to Rotterdam. The show will  see as gues tlast year’s representatives, the group Hatari and Norway’s Eurovision 2019 acts , KEiiNo.

    The five Icelandic national finalists that will take the stage this evening are :

    The acts had the right to keep the Icelandic lyrics , which were compulsory in the semi finals, or perfrom in English. Eventually only two of them remain in Icelandic. Once the performances are completed, the public and jury vote will determine which two will qualify to a Superfinal round, during which the two acts will perform their entries and only the public will determine the final winner and the next Icelandic Eurovision representative.
