Israel: Eden Alene performs an acoustic version of her Eurovision entry 'Set Me Free'

  • The Israeli Eurovision 2021 representative, Eden Alene, has released an acoustic version of her song for Rotterdam, 'Set Me Free'. 

    Eden join the list of this year's Eurovision hopefuls that have released an acoustic version of their entries they will deliver on Rotterdam Ahoy's stage. 

    The Israeli broadcaster after last year's cancellation of the contest due to the covid-19 pandemic decide to give Eden a second chance to complete her Eurovision journey in 2021. In order to find the appropriate entry for Eden , KAN decided to hold the  song selection 'HaShir HaBa L'Eurovizion' (Our song for Eurovision) in which the song "Set Me Free" was selected by the audience among a total of three candidate songs.  

    Following the song selection the broadcaster with Eden Alene decided to revamp the Israeli entry, as she wasn’t involved in the production process of it and the revamp gave her chance to bring more of Eden in the song put her own persanality in showcasing her entry. 

    Now the Israeli act treats the fans with a perfromance of an acoustic version of her entry, which has been released on the of official Eurovision Youtube Channel. 

     

    A FEW WORDS FOR EDEN ALENE

    Alene was born in Jerusalem to parents who immigrated from Ethiopia. In October 2017, she participated in the third season of Israeli reality show The X Factor Israel. At the first audition, she sang "Stone Cold" by Demi Lovato. In January 2018 she won the season finale.

    In 2018 she released her firsr single entitled "Better" while in 2019 followed two more singles, the cover single"Save Your Kisses for Me" and secondly"When It Comes to You"

    Last year the Eden won the HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion talent show , the format chosen to determine the Israeli Eurovision 2020 hopeful. In a song national final the song "Feker Libi" was selected as Eden's entry for Rotterdam. Unfortunately the cancellation of the contest interrupted Eden's Eurovision journey .

    This year Eden is set to perform 12th in the first semi final show on May 18,2021 in Rotterdam Ahoy.
